The Dubai Press Club (DPC), under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, is set to host the 24th Arab Media Award ceremony. This prestigious event will take place on 27 May at the Dubai World Trade Centre, coinciding with the Arab Media Summit and Forum. The ceremony will gather notable media leaders, journalists, and professionals from across the Arab region.
Earlier this month, the Board of Directors of the Arab Media Award, led by Mona Ghanem Al Marri, convened to finalise this year's winners. The selection process involved a rigorous evaluation by a judging panel to uphold high standards of excellence. Al Marri emphasised that this edition highlights the UAE’s significant role in advancing regional media standards.

Al Marri noted that recognising outstanding Arab media professionals is crucial for promoting development goals and enhancing public awareness. The award reflects DPC’s commitment to fostering innovation and excellence in a rapidly evolving media landscape. She praised the contributions of these professionals in driving development and informed public discourse.
Dr. Maitha Buhumaid, Secretary General of the Arab Media Award, stated that the award celebrates exceptional talent and content that combines strong journalistic values with an understanding of current developments. She affirmed that this edition continues to uphold impartial evaluation standards, solidifying its reputation as a leading accolade in the Arab world.
The award comprises three main categories: Journalism, Digital Media, and TV. Within Journalism, awards are given for Political Journalism, Investigative Reporting, and Economic Journalism. The TV category includes awards for Best Economic Programme, Best Social Programme, Best Cultural Programme, Best Sports Programme, and Best Documentary.
The ‘Media Personality of the Year’ award honours an influential figure whose work has significantly impacted the region's media landscape. Additionally, the ‘Best Columnist’ award is determined by the Board based on specific criteria.
Commitment to Innovation
Maryam Al Mulla from Dubai Press Club highlighted that the award remains a vital platform for recognising creativity and excellence across Arab media. It inspires professionals to innovate while reflecting an evolving media landscape. The club is committed to maintaining high standards aligned with rapid changes in media.
Jasim Al Shamsi emphasised that involving top academics and experts enhances evaluation accuracy for this edition. The award aims to promote creativity and responsibility while showcasing work that elevates Arab media's global reputation.
The event is part of a broader summit featuring standalone ceremonies for various awards including the Arab Social Media Influencers Award and Ibda’a – Arab Youth Media Award. These events will occur alongside the third Arab Youth Media Forum on 26 May and the 23rd edition of the Arab Media Forum on 27-28 May.
