Sheikh Mansoor Bin Mohammed Crowns Champions At Inaugural Dubai Premier Padel P1 Tournament
His Highness Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Sports Council, awarded the winners of the first Dubai Premier Padel P1 at the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Stadium. Arturo Coello and Agustin Tapia triumphed in the men's category, while Bea Gonzalez and Delfina Brea Senesi claimed victory in the women's competition. The event concluded a week of intense matches with a prize pool of Dh1.89 million.
The tournament was organised by Gallop Global, based in Dubai, with support from several organisations including UAE Padel Association (UAEPA), International Padel Federation (FIP), Department of Economy and Tourism (DET), Dubai Sports Council (DSC), and Premier Padel. Coello and Tapia secured their win with a 6-4, 6-3 victory over Federico Chingotto and Alejandro Galan, thrilling over 5,000 spectators.
Sheikh Mansoor welcomed international guests to the championship, emphasising Dubai's status as a leading global sports hub. He highlighted that the success of this event showcases Dubai’s advanced infrastructure and supportive environment for sports development both locally and internationally.
Gonzalez and Brea Senesi dominated the women's final with a 6-2, 6-3 win. Due to illness, Brea Senesi missed the post-match press conference. Gonzalez expressed surprise at her performance level after returning from injury. "It was unexpected to play at this level," she said, noting her long recovery period.
Sheikh Saeed bin Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum, UAEPA President, expressed gratitude to Sheikh Mansoor for his support of padel in Dubai. He congratulated the champions on their historic success and hoped this event would inspire future local champions to take up the sport.
Saeed Mohammed Hareb, Secretary General of DSC, praised the event's world-class status. "Bringing top players to Dubai boosts our society's prosperity and sport growth," he stated. He congratulated Premier Padel, the champions, organisers, and Dubai for hosting such an event.
