Philippines Interior Secretary Enhances Security Ties With Dubai Police
Benjamin Abalos Jr, Secretary of the Department of Interior and Local Government of the Philippines, recently visited the Dubai Police General Headquarters. He was welcomed by Lieutenant General Abdulla Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police. They discussed strategies to enhance cooperation and bilateral relations in security and policing.
The officials addressed topics of mutual interest and explored Dubai Police's critical practices in crime prevention. Abalos was presented with statistics highlighting the Force's achievements in preventing various forms of crime. He also gained insights into their international cooperation efforts in combating organised and transnational crime.

Al Marri then accompanied Abalos to the Command and Control Centre. Here, they were briefed about the latest services and initiatives that enhance security and safety in the emirate. They learned about the Centre's equipment, including a 3D map covering Dubai and a patrol dispatching system ensuring swift response to emergencies.
During the visit, Abalos was also briefed on the 'Drone Box' system, a platform designed for launching automated drones in Dubai. This system aims to reduce response times for critical emergencies to one minute and assist in crime detection. He watched a short film showcasing Dubai Police's rapid response to an incident.
The Philippine Minister received a commemorative shield from Al Marri at the end of his visit. The shield featured a three-dimensional replica of Naif Police Station, which is the first police station established in Dubai.
This visit highlighted the strong relationship between the Philippines and Dubai in terms of security cooperation. It underscored both parties' commitment to enhancing safety through innovative practices and international collaboration.
