Dubai Police Unveils Innovative Solutions For People Of Determination At AccessAbilities Expo 2024
H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, who holds several key positions including Chairman of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority and Emirates Airline, recently visited the Dubai Police stand at the 6th AccessAbilities Expo. This event, held at the Dubai World Trade Centre, focuses on innovative solutions for people of determination and runs until Wednesday.
The AccessAbilities Expo 2024 aims to showcase the latest services and technologies available for people of determination. Major Abdullah Hamad Al Shamsi, Chairperson of the Dubai Police People of Determination Empowerment Council, emphasised their annual participation in this important exhibition. He stated, "Our council's policies align with Dubai Police's initiatives for people of determination, supporting the National Policy for Empowering People of Determination and the Dubai Quality of Life Strategy 2033."

Dubai Police introduced a "Sensory Room" designed specifically for individuals with autism. This room utilises virtual reality glasses to improve social interaction and communication skills. Two such sensory rooms have been set up at Al Muraqqabat and Al Barsha police stations.
Captain Mohammed Al Mazrouei, Vice Chairman of the council, highlighted a specially designed shooting wheelchair at their stand. This wheelchair is tailored for individuals with double amputations to participate in shooting events. He mentioned, "We are proud of Aisha's qualification for the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games."
Aisha Al Shamsi, an Emirati athlete from the Dubai Club for People of Determination, has excelled in shooting despite her challenges. She has won numerous medals and secured a spot in the Paris 2024 Paralympics.
First Warrant Officer Mohammed Hussein played a role in developing this wheelchair. It is battery-powered and mobile, allowing participation in both local and international Paralympic shooting competitions. The chair features a height-adjustable rifle holder and is easy to transport.
Commitment to Autism Support
The Dubai Autism Centre recognised Dubai Police by awarding them the Autism-Friendly Certificate. This award acknowledges their dedication to supporting individuals with autism through trained personnel and facilities.
Throughout the Expo's three days, Dubai Police will host "Heroes' Talk," showcasing inspiring achievements from people within the community of determination.
The commitment shown by organisations like Dubai Police highlights ongoing efforts to empower people of determination through innovative solutions and support systems.
