Dubai Police Iftar Cannon Celebrates Contributions To Mothers’ Endowment Campaign During Ramadan

During the holy month of Ramadan, a unique tradition unfolds in Dubai, intertwining cultural heritage with philanthropy. The Dubai Police Iftar Cannon, an annual event, takes on a special significance this year as it celebrates contributors to the Mothers’ Endowment campaign. This initiative, launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, aims to establish a AED1 billion endowment fund dedicated to supporting education for millions globally.

The celebration of contributors is a testament to Dubai Police's commitment to humanitarian and charity initiatives within the UAE. This is evident in their support for significant campaigns such as the "1 Billion Meals Endowment", "1 Billion Meals", and "100 Million Meals" over recent years. The daily live broadcast on Sama Dubai TV during Ramadan will spotlight individuals or institutions that have contributed AED1 million or more, encouraging further participation in this noble cause.

Honouring Donors of Mothers’ Endowment Campaign

Lieutenant-General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, emphasized the Mothers’ Endowment campaign as a profound way to appreciate and honor mothers. He highlighted the campaign's reflection of the nation's valuation of education and its pivotal role in development. "Islam urges us to seek knowledge and education, as well as promote it and help others attain it," he stated, underlining the importance of education in Islam and its role in societal development.

By honoring contributors to the Mothers’ Endowment, Dubai Police aims to promote a culture of giving and present these philanthropists as inspiring role models. This initiative aligns with the UAE's broader mission to extend aid and support globally, demonstrating Dubai Police's dedication to supporting charitable causes.

The Mothers’ Endowment campaign offers a unique opportunity for donors to honor their mothers while contributing to a cause that empowers underprivileged individuals through education. By providing training and educational opportunities, the campaign aims to enhance the capabilities and skills of individuals, thereby improving their quality of life and readiness for the job market.

Donation Channels

To facilitate contributions, the Mothers’ Endowment campaign has opened several channels for donations. These include the campaign’s website (mothersfund.ae), a dedicated call centre via toll-free number (800 9999), bank transfers in UAE dirham to Emirates Islamic Bank (AE790340003708472909201), and SMS donations by sending "Mother" to numbers (1034, 1035, 1036, 1038) for Etisalat by e& users. Additionally, donations can be made through the DubaiNow app by selecting the "Donations" tab and via Dubai’s community contributions platform Jood.

The association of the Iftar cannon with Ramadan’s values and historical heritage further inspires participation in these charitable efforts. This initiative not only honors significant contributions but also reinforces the spirit of giving during a month that holds great significance in Islamic culture.
