Dubai Police Arrest And Extradite Trio Wanted In Belgium For Organised Crime Activities
Dubai Police have successfully apprehended and extradited three key suspects to Belgium. These individuals were sought in connection with cross-border organised crime activities. They were on INTERPOL's and Europol's most wanted lists. The operation highlighted Dubai Police's effective collaboration with global law enforcement agencies.
The suspects, Mathias Akyazili, Giorgi Faes, and Othman El Ballouti, face multiple serious charges. These include leading a notorious gang, drug trafficking, robbery, and human trafficking. Their extradition followed a comprehensive investigation by Dubai Police in partnership with the Ministry of Interior.

The investigation was spearheaded by the General Department of Criminal Investigation. It was initiated after Belgian authorities issued an international arrest warrant through the UAE Ministry of Justice's International Cooperation Department. This department acts as the central authority for handling international cooperation requests.
Before proceeding with the extradition request, all necessary legal and judicial procedures were meticulously followed. This ensured compliance with international standards and facilitated a smooth extradition process.
Dubai Police emphasised that their prompt action in such cases underscores their dedication to fostering cooperation with global law enforcement bodies. This commitment is crucial in effectively tackling transnational organised crime.
Such collaborative efforts contribute to strengthening a robust global security framework. This framework aims to confront criminal activities decisively while promoting the exchange of international expertise and best practices in policing.
The ultimate goal is to ensure enhanced safety and security for communities worldwide. By building bridges of cooperation, law enforcement agencies can work together more effectively to combat all forms of organised crime across borders.
