Dubai Municipality Launches Registration For 14th Dubai International Best Practices Award In Sustainable Development

Dubai Municipality has opened registration for the 14th Dubai International Best Practices Award for Sustainable Development. This award, in collaboration with the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat), celebrates innovative projects and ideas that promote urban growth and improve living conditions globally. Winners will be revealed at the World Governments Summit in 2026.

The award aims to highlight global efforts that significantly impact urban planning, sustainable development, and community well-being. It encourages international cooperation in creating programmes and policies addressing climate change, environmental conservation, and integrated spatial planning. These efforts contribute to building more liveable cities for future generations.

Registration Opens for Dubai Best Practices Award

Nasser BuShehab, CEO of the Planning and Governance Sector at Dubai Municipality, stated, "Over the past 30 years, the Dubai International Best Practices Award for Sustainable Development has reinforced Dubai and the UAE’s leadership in embracing sustainable development goals and promoting responsible global partnerships. Through this platform, we continue to champion innovation and celebrate best-in-class initiatives that tackle pressing social, economic, and environmental challenges in cities and human settlements. The award has become one of the world’s most respected benchmarks of urban innovation and excellence, aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals."

The current edition includes five main categories. These recognise achievements in urban regeneration and public spaces, preservation of urban food systems, climate change responses, pollution reduction, urban infrastructure planning and management, as well as designing iconic buildings. The total prize value is USD 1 million.

This significant prize motivates innovation and sustainability across these priority areas. Interested participants can register on the official website www.dubaiaward.ae. Registration is open to both local and international applicants.

The award supports international collaboration by developing programmes that address pressing issues like climate change. It also focuses on preserving environments while integrating spatial planning to create better cities for future generations.
