Dubai Municipality Launches Future Talents Programme To Equip 200 Students With Essential Skills

Dubai Municipality has introduced the latest version of its summer training programme, 'Future Talents'. This initiative aims to equip 200 students with vital skills for the future job market. It targets university, college, and high school students (Grades 11 and 12), offering hands-on training in various administrative, technical, and field areas.

The programme demonstrates Dubai Municipality's dedication to nurturing young Emirati talent by providing learning experiences that align with the Municipality’s specialisations. This effort supports the larger goal of preparing a generation ready to contribute to national progress.

Future Talents Programme Trains 200 Students

Abdulla Khalfan, Acting Director of the Human Resources Department at Dubai Municipality, stated: "Future Talents is one of the key programmes implemented by Dubai Municipality to attract and develop promising national talent. It enables students to enhance their academic knowledge with practical experience, helping them gain the skills and insights required to navigate the evolving labour market and seize future opportunities."

The training agenda is tailored to match students’ academic fields. It combines theoretical learning with practical application. This method gives students a better grasp of their chosen disciplines while offering an inside look at institutional operations and professional duties.

The four-week programme requires students to work eight hours daily across different Dubai Municipality departments based on their academic focus. The experience is designed to provide a thorough understanding of institutional work culture while enhancing essential skills like communication, teamwork, and punctuality.

Expanding Opportunities for Students

Beyond technical knowledge, the programme aids in developing personal and professional networks crucial for career advancement. Last year, Dubai Municipality trained 60 university and college students across 16 departments through this summer programme.

In 2025, the initiative has expanded to include high school participants for the first time. This expansion reflects a commitment to broadening opportunities for young people at different educational levels.

This comprehensive approach not only builds technical expertise but also helps students form valuable connections that will support their future careers. The initiative continues to evolve, adapting to meet the needs of an ever-changing job market.
