Dubai Media Council Engages TikTok To Enhance Knowledge Exchange And Media Innovation

The Dubai Media Council recently met with TikTok to discuss potential partnerships. This meeting aligns with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, aiming to enhance Dubai's status as a media innovation hub. The discussions focused on promoting knowledge exchange and strengthening ties with global new media technology leaders.

During the meeting, Mona Al Marri, Vice Chairperson and Managing Director of the Dubai Media Council, engaged with Shou Zi Chew, CEO of TikTok. They explored how Dubai can support the growth of new media platforms to benefit communities. Nehal Badri, Secretary General of the Dubai Media Council, was also present at this meeting.

Dubai Media Council Partners with TikTok

The discussions highlighted the media's role in sustainable development and supporting Dubai's ambitious goals outlined in the Dubai Economic Agenda D33 and Dubai Social Agenda 33. These agendas aim to position Dubai as a global leader and preferred destination for living, working, and visiting.

Mona Al Marri emphasised that "Dubai plays a key role in advancing the regional media landscape by fostering strategic collaboration with digital media industry leaders." She noted that their focus is on leveraging successful global experiences to train media professionals and content creators using innovative practices.

The UAE leadership is committed to nurturing local talent by equipping them with skills to create inspiring content. This initiative aims to showcase Dubai's success story globally. The collaboration between the Dubai Media Council and TikTok will focus on training, sharing expertise, and exchanging knowledge.
