Dubai Media Council To Lead Workshops And Discussions At Arab Media Summit 2025
The Arab Media Summit 2025, under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, will take place from 26 to 28 May. The event is organised by the Dubai Press Club and aims to gather over 6,000 media professionals and decision-makers. The Summit will feature panel discussions, workshops, and dialogues focusing on new trends and opportunities in the media sector.
Nehal Badri, Secretary General of the Dubai Media Council, emphasised the Summit's role as a platform for connecting with media professionals. "As the region’s largest media gathering, the Arab Media Summit offers a unique platform to connect with professionals from across the media spectrum and engage in constructive dialogue on new trends shaping the sector and opportunities for continued excellence. Our aim is to foster meaningful conversations that support the advancement of the industry."

The Council's agenda during the Summit will prioritise film and gaming industries, which are rapidly growing in the UAE. Sessions are designed to align with strategic visions following the launch of ‘Dubai Films and Games’. This commission aims to boost sector growth through collaborations with local talent and international production houses.
Maryam Al Mulla, Acting Director of the Dubai Press Club, highlighted that this year's Summit participation adds depth. "Through a packed programme of sessions featuring leading media experts and influential voices, the Dubai Media Council will highlight emerging sectors and future opportunities in the Arab media landscape. This aligns with the Summit’s focus on future-driven development and its efforts to advance media excellence across the region."
Hesham Al Olama from Dubai Media Council noted that film and TV production is a major focus at this year’s Summit. Sessions will explore building a globally competitive film industry in the UAE by developing films that meet international standards. Additional discussions will cover TV drama production's future with expert collaboration.
Al Olama also mentioned exploring how emerging technologies like artificial intelligence can enhance media production capabilities. "The Council will also examine how emerging technologies, particularly artificial intelligence, can enhance media production capabilities," Al Olama said. Discussions will address how media serves educational and entertainment purposes while contributing economically.
Honouring Emirati Professionals
The ‘Dubai Media Pioneers’ initiative will honour Emirati professionals who have significantly contributed to media development. Prominent figures will share their professional journeys during this event. H.H. Sheikh Hasher bin Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum is among those featured participants.
The Arab Media Summit has historically brought together ministers and decision-makers from across regions. It provides an essential forum for addressing challenges facing Arab media while celebrating achievements across platforms like print, digital, audio-visual formats.
This year's event includes various forums such as Arab Youth Media Forum, Arab Social Media Influencers Summit Award among others aiming at enriching content resonating with today's audiences.
