Dubai Maritime Authority Advances Marine Tourism Development In Hatta With Focus On Safety And Collaboration
A team from the Dubai Maritime Authority (DMA), led by Sheikh Dr. Saeed bin Ahmed bin Khalifa Al Maktoum, recently visited Hatta. This visit was part of ongoing efforts to oversee and boost development projects and marine tourism activities in the region. The delegation's itinerary included visits to "Wadi Lim Lake" and "Hatta Kayak" at Hatta Dam, both notable marine tourism spots in Dubai and the UAE.
During their visit, the DMA delegation met with Marwan bin Ghalita, Acting Director-General of Dubai Municipality. They discussed enhancing collaboration and organising activities related to marine and waterway management. Both parties highlighted the importance of improving facilities and services for visitors, given Hatta's rising popularity as a tourist destination.

Sheikh Saeed praised all stakeholders for their efforts in realising His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum's vision. This vision aims to develop Hatta as part of Dubai’s strategic plan. He urged teams to continue improving marine services in collaboration with relevant authorities and support marine tourism operators in the area.
"This visit reflects our commitment to ensuring the highest standards of safety and efficiency in managing the waterways surrounding Hatta Dam, which reinforces Dubai’s position as a global tourism destination," Sheikh Saeed stated. "It also ensures top safety and quality levels across all associated marine activities."
Sheikh Saeed reiterated that visitor safety is a top priority for the Authority. Ensuring this requires close coordination among all stakeholders involved. He stressed the need for securing and upgrading marine equipment used in Hatta to maintain high safety standards.
The CEO also highlighted Law No. 3 of 2023 concerning the DMA. This law outlines the Authority’s role in developing, regulating, and managing maritime activities in Dubai according to global best practices.
The visit underscored DMA's dedication to maintaining safety and efficiency standards around Hatta Dam. It also reinforced Dubai’s reputation as a leading global tourism hub by ensuring quality across all marine activities.
