Dubai Embarks On Ambitious Project To Future-Proof Its Workforce For Global Competitiveness

The Dubai Government Human Resources Department (DGHR) has officially launched the Future Proofing Dubai’s Workforce project, themed Talent 2033. This initiative was unveiled in the presence of esteemed representatives from federal authorities, various government bodies in Dubai, and leading employers from the private sector. These sectors include travel, logistics, tourism, ICT, real estate, trade, finance, insurance, healthcare, education, and manufacturing. The project's primary goal is to position Dubai as a leading global hub for talent empowerment and strategic workforce planning across both government and private sectors.

The ambitious project aims to integrate 65,000 Emiratis into the private sector while digitising labour market forecasts to boost productivity and implement automation through advanced analytics engines. Additionally, it will focus on creating capacity-building programs designed for the future workforce. Spanning a 12-month period, the Future Proofing Dubai’s Workforce project is divided into four main phases, with specific initiatives and programs set to continue beyond these stages.

Dubai's Plan for a Future-Ready Workforce

His Excellency Abdullah Ali Bin Zayed Al Falasi, Director General of DGHR, emphasized the importance of collaboration and alliances within the Emirate. He highlighted that this initiative is in line with Dubai’s strategic vision for 2033 and the ambitious Dubai Economic Agenda D33 aimed at doubling the size of Dubai’s economy over the next decade. It also supports the Dubai 2024 Urban Master Plan and The UAE Net Zero by 2050 initiative.

In preparation for this project's launch, a delegation from DGHR led by Al Falasi conducted visits to key government and private entities to discuss collaboration efforts. This project is a response to dynamic changes in the job market and aims to deepen understanding of job market trends and essential skills for human capital. It seeks to enhance the global competitive edge of the workforce by developing a strategic map that facilitates the integration of Emirati nationals into the private sector and encourages their active participation.

The Future Proofing Dubai’s Workforce project aligns with the strategic vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, to establish Dubai as a global hub for innovation and creativity. DGHR is dedicated to addressing the evolving needs and future expectations of Dubai's human workforce by providing solutions and proposing effective tools that empower both national human capital and global talents. This initiative also aims to foster partnerships between government and private sectors to drive sustainable development and enhance community well-being.
