Dubai Internet City Showcases Its Role In Dubai's Digital Economy At GITEX Asia

Dubai Internet City will participate in GITEX Asia, held from 23rd to 25th April in Singapore. This event is led by Dubai’s Department of Economy and Tourism. As a key player in the Middle East's digital economy, Dubai Internet City aims to highlight the region's technological advancements at this inaugural event.

Since its establishment in 1999, Dubai Internet City has significantly contributed to Dubai's tech sector. It accounts for 65% of the city's technology GDP and has created over 125,000 jobs. A recent study by Accenture revealed these figures, underscoring the hub's economic impact.

Dubai Internet City at GITEX Asia

The tech hub is part of TECOM Group PJSC and has added AED100 billion to Dubai’s GDP over the last 15 years. At GITEX Asia, it will emphasize its role in enhancing Dubai's status as a global tech hub. This aligns with the goals of the Dubai Economic Agenda ‘D33’ and the UAE Digital Economy Strategy.

Ammar Al Malik, Executive Vice President of Commercial at TECOM Group and Managing Director of Dubai Internet City, stated, "We look forward to showcasing the transformative potential of Dubai Internet City’s ecosystem GITEX Asia, as well as fostering partnerships that will shape the future of the technology sector, strengthening Dubai’s and the UAE’s position as a preferred global destination for business, investment, and innovation."

The district is home to an ecosystem comprising 4,000 customers. These include multinational companies like IBM, Google, and Microsoft. Additionally, more than 31,000 professionals work within this vibrant community. The presence at GITEX Asia will feature success stories from these diverse entities.

Research and development are crucial components of Dubai Internet City's offerings. The area hosts 19 Innovation Centres operated by industry leaders such as 3M, IBM, HP, Ericsson, and Cisco. These centres contribute significantly to technological advancements within the region.

Supporting Start-ups and Entrepreneurs

in5 is an incubator founded by TECOM Group in 2013 to support start-ups across various sectors including tech, media, design, and science. Since its inception, it has aided over 1,000 start-ups. in5 will also be present at GITEX Asia alongside Dubai Internet City.
