Dubai International WoodShow 2023 Opens With Participation From 50 Countries And Over 1,600 Brands
The Dubai International Wood and Woodworking Machinery Exhibition commenced its 21st edition at the Dubai World Trade Centre. The event features 781 exhibitors showcasing over 1,662 brands from 50 nations. Running until 16th April, it was inaugurated by Mahir Abdul Karim Julfar, Executive Vice President at Dubai World Trade Centre, alongside senior officials and company representatives.
Julfar highlighted the exhibition's role as a strategic platform supporting the Dubai Economic Agenda D33. It aims to attract foreign investments and strengthen Dubai's status as a leading industrial and logistics hub in the region. This aligns with the emirate's broader economic goals.

Dawood Al Shezawi, President of the exhibition, noted its significance in driving industrial and commercial growth in Dubai. He emphasised that the event connects manufacturers, distributors, and investors amid rising demand for wood and natural materials in construction, design, and decoration sectors.
The exhibition features 12 international pavilions from countries such as Portugal, Gabon, China, the United States, India, Italy, Turkey, Russia, France, Germany, Austria, and Egypt. These pavilions showcase advanced products and technologies in the wood industry, highlighting global diversity and investment opportunities.
Exhibitors are presenting a wide array of products including wooden panels of various types, hardwoods and softwoods, engineered wood products, edge banding solutions, machinery and equipment. Additionally, coatings, adhesives, furniture accessories, logistics solutions, and software are on display.
The first day featured several panel discussions and workshops. Topics included timber market forecasts for the Middle East and North Africa region. There were also analyses of the global ocean freight market's impact on logistics and discussions on timber market trends in Northern and Central Europe as well as North Africa.
Concurrent Events
Coinciding with this main event is the 7th edition of the Dubai International Furniture Accessories, Components & Semi-Finished Products Exhibition (DIFAC). This showcases new technologies in the furniture sector. Visitors can explore products like locks, hinges, ready-made or semi-finished cabinets along with tools and production equipment.
Upholstery materials are also featured alongside decorations and interior finishes. This highlights innovations within furniture manufacturing processes while offering insights into emerging trends within this sector.
The exhibition serves as a crucial meeting point for industry stakeholders to explore business opportunities. It fosters collaboration among participants while promoting technological advancements across various sectors related to woodwork.
