Dubai International Project Management Forum Issues 12 Key Recommendations On Digital Transformation And Sustainability
Participants at the 10th Dubai International Project Management Forum (DIPMF) put forward 12 strategic recommendations. The event, held from 13th to 16th January 2025, was organised by Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. Co-hosted by DEWA, Emaar Properties, DP World, and PMI, the forum focused on Sustainable Cities, Digital Transformation, Jobs of the Future, and Future-Centric Project Management.
The forum's theme was "Sustainable Future," emphasising inclusive urban design for future cities. Participants advocated integrating smart mobility solutions and renewable energy systems to balance social, economic, and environmental goals. They also recommended public-private partnerships to fund sustainable urban initiatives with policies enforcing environmentally responsible practices.

Under digital transformation, participants stressed adopting AI, machine learning, and advanced analytics to boost operational efficiency and support data-driven decisions. They recommended using digital twin and blockchain technologies for transparency and security in projects. Robotic Process Automation (RPA) was highlighted for automating routine tasks to allow teams to focus on higher-value activities.
The forum underscored the need for upskilling workforces through advanced training in AI, robotics, and AR/VR technologies. Participants called for creating roles like AI governance specialists to support new technology adoption. Aligning workforce development strategies with evolving project economies was also emphasised.
Value-Driven Project Management Practices
Participants highlighted adopting value-driven project management practices that meet stakeholder expectations while aligning with strategic objectives. They recommended developing intelligent frameworks powered by AI to enhance workflow efficiency while maintaining transparency. Projects should align with circular economy principles and UN Sustainable Development Goals.
Moaza Saeed Al Marri, CEO of the Executive Affairs Sector at RTA and Chairperson of DIPMF’s Organising Committee, stated that the forum centred on Sustainability, Digital Transformation, Jobs of the Future, and Future-Centric Project Management. These areas were explored through 19 tracks where global experts shared leading practices resulting in impactful recommendations.
The forum has become a premier global platform reinforcing Dubai’s position as a hub for world-class events. The latest edition featured local and international figures including visionary project management leaders and top-tier trainers. Across its editions, the forum has delivered comprehensive recommendations aimed at advancing economic and environmental prosperity.
As part of the forum, RTA presented four case studies showcasing innovative practices in road and transport infrastructure supporting Dubai’s vision for eco-friendly transport solutions. These included the 3D printed abra, Al Khail Road development, metro station enhancements, and an enterprise platform for AI solutions aimed at making Dubai "The World Leader in Seamless and Sustainable Mobility."
