Dubai Industrial City Unveils Expansion To Fortify UAE's Manufacturing Landscape

Dubai Industrial City, a key component of the TECOM Group PJSC, has recently expanded its operational footprint with the addition of 13.9 million sq.ft. of land. This strategic enlargement, valued at Dh410 million, is set to bolster the UAE's and Dubai's manufacturing and local supply chains significantly. The announcement was made amidst a backdrop of increased demand for industrial space, driven by initiatives like Operation 300bn, Make it in the Emirates, and the Dubai Economic Agenda 'D33’.

The announcement was made during the Make it in the Emirates Forum, held in Abu Dhabi on 27-28 May, highlighting the importance of this expansion. The event was graced by the presence of notable figures such as Sarah Al Amiri, UAE Minister of State for Public Education and Advanced Technology; Omar Al Suwaidi, Undersecretary of the UAE Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology; and leaders from TECOM Group, including Malek Al Malek, Chairman, Abdulla Belhoul, Chief Executive Officer, and Saud Abu Alshawareb, Executive Vice President of Industrial.

Dubai City s Big Manufacturing Boost

This development comes on the heels of Dubai Industrial City's exceptional performance over the past 18 months. The manufacturing destination has seen a significant uptick in demand for its high-quality industrial spaces, a trend that is expected to continue as the region's pro-growth visions unfold. The newly acquired land plots are not only strategically located but also well-connected, promising to enhance the overall value and efficiency of Dubai's manufacturing and industrial sector.

Recent statistics underscore the growth and potential of Dubai Industrial City. The first quarter of this year saw land occupancy rates surge by 12% year-on-year (YoY), reaching an impressive 97%. This follows a year of sustained growth in 2023, during which the customer ecosystem of Dubai Industrial City expanded by 17%, featuring over 1,000 local, regional, and international corporations. Such figures not only reflect the city's robust industrial environment but also its pivotal role in shaping the future of manufacturing in the region.

The expansion and the ongoing success of Dubai Industrial City are in line with the UAE's broader ambitions to become a global hub for innovative manufacturing. By providing additional high-quality industrial spaces, the city is set to play a crucial role in attracting and nurturing businesses across various sectors. This move not only promises to enhance Dubai's industrial landscape but also contributes significantly to the nation's economic diversification efforts.
