DGHR And OECD Partnership: A Series Of Webinars Aimed At Economic Growth And Workforce Empowerment

The Dubai Government Human Resources Department (DGHR) has recently entered into a strategic partnership with the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) to facilitate a series of webinars. These webinars are designed to explore various strategies and opportunities aimed at fostering economic growth and enhancing global trade dynamics. This collaboration underscores a mutual commitment to leveraging knowledge and expertise to address contemporary challenges in international trade and human resource development.

As part of this initiative, the DGHR has already hosted several webinars covering a broad spectrum of topics. These include 'Using Analytics for Future Skills', 'Job Quality in the Future of Work', 'Capability-Building Practices in the Public Service', 'Promoting Gender Balance in the Workforce', and 'Generative Artificial Intelligence and the world of work.’ The sessions brought together keynote speakers and experts from leading economies worldwide, offering valuable insights into best practices across these critical areas.

DGHR-OECD Webinars Boost Economy

Abdullah Ali Bin Zayed Al-Falasi, Director General of the DGHR, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, highlighting its role in driving Dubai's competitiveness through the adoption of international best practices. "This collaboration with OECD is pivotal for enhancing our policies on human resource empowerment, government performance, and productivity," Al-Falasi remarked. He emphasized the significance of these webinars in providing global perspectives on economic and trade challenges, alongside opportunities for business communities including entrepreneurs, merchants, suppliers, investors, and SMEs.

The webinars also serve as platforms for discussing inclusive workplace practices and strategies for creating a diverse and sustainable economic environment. Al-Falasi pointed out the importance of aligning human development programmes with national goals to maximize institutional efficiency.

Iman Saleh Bin Khatam, Director of Policy and Programme Support at DGHR, inaugurated a webinar focused on 'Promoting Gender Balance in the Workforce'. She provided an overview of the UAE's initiatives aimed at advancing gender balance and their impact on workforce policies and regulations. The session featured discussions on equal pay, non-discrimination, and career advancement opportunities.

Bin Khatam also underscored the role of these webinars in analyzing current economic landscapes, including emerging developments and challenges. She highlighted their potential to expedite the adoption of best practices for institutional operations and service delivery. "These sessions not only aim to ensure gender balance through HR policies but also explore future work environments and job skills," Bin Khatam added.

The OECD contributed to the webinar on gender balance by presenting an overview of gender policies implemented by its member states. These initiatives cover parental leave, childcare, flexible work arrangements, pay transparency, and non-discrimination legislation.

Looking ahead, the DGHR plans to host additional webinars on various developmental and economic topics in collaboration with the OECD. This ongoing series represents a significant step towards enhancing Dubai's position in the global economic landscape through informed dialogue and international cooperation.
