This year's congress marks a decade since the inception of World FZO and will be held in Dubai for the second consecutive year. Dubai Hosts World FZO Congress

Global Trade and Economic Zones

The 10th edition will bring together representatives from economic zones worldwide, highlighting their vital role in global trade. These zones facilitate more than a third of global trade flows, supporting national economies, enhancing trade exchanges, boosting commercial transactions, driving digital economies, attracting foreign investments, and aiding other economic sectors.

Dr. Mohammed Al-Zarooni, Chairman of the World FZO, stated: "Hosting the 10th World FZO World Congress reflects Dubai's commitment to actively contribute to the development of the global system of economic zones, which serve as the backbone of international trade in our current era. This aligns with Dubai's drive to double its foreign trade to reach AED 25 trillion and its goal to establish trade corridors with 400 new cities worldwide by 2033, in accordance with Dubai Economic Agenda (D33) and its ambitious targets."

Dubai's Strategic Vision

Dr. Al-Zarooni added that holding the event in Dubai provides an opportunity to present comprehensive visions and predict future trends in the economic zones sector globally. It encourages constructive discussions among stakeholders on facilitating business operations, connecting various markets, and offering cost-effective processes for customers.

The World FZO boasts over 1,600 members from 141 countries and maintains a global presence through 12 regional offices and 42 national contact points worldwide.

The congress aims to underline how economic zones can support national economies by facilitating trade exchanges and boosting commercial transactions. It will also focus on driving digital economies and attracting foreign investments while supporting other crucial economic sectors.

This year's congress is expected to draw significant attention due to its emphasis on unlocking new investment avenues amid shifting global economic structures. The event will provide a platform for discussing innovative strategies and solutions for enhancing global trade through economic zones.

The gathering will reflect on how these zones can continue playing a pivotal role in international commerce by adapting to changing economic landscapes. Attendees will explore ways to enhance their contributions to national economies and global trade networks.

The congress will also serve as a venue for sharing best practices and successful models from various economic zones around the world. Participants will have opportunities to engage in fruitful discussions aimed at fostering collaboration and innovation within this sector.

The event underscores Dubai's strategic vision of becoming a leading hub for international trade by leveraging its robust infrastructure and strategic location. Hosting such a prestigious event aligns with Dubai's broader goals outlined in its Economic Agenda (D33).

As Dubai prepares for this significant event, it continues to solidify its position as a key player in global trade networks. The city's commitment to hosting international events like the World FZO Congress highlights its dedication to fostering global economic growth through collaboration and innovation.
