MAICO Enterprises Inc., a prominent Japanese trade organisation, has unveiled plans for the Japan Kyoto Trade Exhibition 2025. This annual event in Dubai aims to bolster trade relations between the UAE and Japan, fostering economic growth and innovation. The exhibition will be held at DWTC Hall 4 from 10 February 2025, showcasing a wide array of Japanese industries, from traditional crafts to advanced technologies.

The announcement was made during a press conference in Dubai. Leaders from various Japanese sectors highlighted the significance of the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) under negotiation between Japan and the UAE. This agreement is expected to enhance bilateral trade and support business expansion in the UAE and the broader Middle East region.

Japan Kyoto Trade Exhibition Set for Dubai in 2025

On September 18, both nations declared the commencement of discussions aimed at establishing a comprehensive economic partnership agreement. This initiative seeks to create new development opportunities that will support sustainable economic growth for both countries and their citizens. Toshimi Yamazaki, President of Ringo Inc., emphasised this during a live video address at the press conference.

Yamazaki stated, "Tomorrow marks the UAE’s Eid Al Etihad, and we are honored to hold this press conference at such a meaningful time. This exhibition is the largest B2B platform in the region, presenting Japan’s traditional and innovative industries to a dynamic market." He further noted that this step would strengthen cultural and economic ties between Japan and the UAE.

Mai Sakaue, Executive Committee Chairperson of the Japan Trade Exhibition and CEO of MAICO Enterprises Inc., shared insights about the upcoming event. She mentioned that while the first edition in 2024 mainly featured exhibitors from Kyoto, February 2025 will see participation from across Japan. Industries represented will include food, beauty, architecture, and space technology.

Sakaue explained that this event is not just about business connections but also celebrates Japan’s industrial and cultural diversity. It offers an opportunity for participants to explore new ventures while appreciating Japan's rich heritage.

Anticipated Growth

Rina Fujihashi, Organising Committee Member, provided statistics on past attendance. The initial edition hosted 95 exhibitors and attracted around 12,000 visitors. For 2025, they aim to increase these numbers significantly with expectations of hosting 150 exhibitors and welcoming up to 30,000 visitors.

This includes business leaders as well as general attendees interested in exploring Japan’s heritage and innovations. The exhibition promises to be an exciting platform for cultural exchange and collaboration between Japan and the MENA region.

Opportunities for Expansion

Noriaki Hirao, President of Planetway Corporation, shared his experience from participating in the first edition. He noted that presenting their data-sovereignty solutions based on Estonian e-government systems garnered immediate interest from Dubai investors. This highlights Dubai's dynamic market environment.

Hirao expressed enthusiasm about establishing Dubai as a hub for their Middle East operations through this exhibition. With over 30,000 expected attendees including trade professionals and public visitors alike; it stands poised as one of the largest Japanese business matching shows within MENA regions.

This premier B2B event serves as an essential platform for enhancing business partnerships between Japan and UAE while focusing broadly on GCC markets too—offering companies looking towards expansion or enhancement within these regions ample opportunities through engagement with key players across industries involved here today!
