Dubai Hosts World Congress of Neurosurgery in 2025

The WFNS's decision to hold the congress in Dubai underscores the city's rapid growth as a hub for international conferences. According to the International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA), Dubai ranks highest in the Middle East for hosting association events.

Ahmed Al Khaja, CEO of Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment, stated, "The decision by the World Federation of Neurosurgical Societies to bring this prestigious event to Dubai is a testament to the evolution of our knowledge economy, driven by the city’s visionary leadership. It also further highlights the platform that Dubai is able to provide to associations around the world for sharing knowledge, networking, and professional development."

Dubai's focus on attracting business events aligns with its Economic Agenda D33, aiming to double its economy by 2033. The city’s convention bureau collaborates with various sectors to expand its event portfolio. A notable initiative is the Al Safeer Congress Ambassador Programme which engages local experts to secure international events.

Dr. Mohamed Al-Olama expressed pride in bringing global neurosurgery experts to Dubai. He noted that their skills would significantly benefit medicine and enhance Dubai’s reputation as a preferred venue for specialised gatherings.

Infrastructure and Innovation: Key Attractions

The Administrative Council of WFNS praised Dubai as an ideal location for such an event. They highlighted its infrastructure, business-friendly environment, and leisure options as reasons why it stands out for large-scale global gatherings.

"There is no better place in the world than Dubai to bring the neurosurgical world together," they stated. "Science, technology and innovation have been the hallmarks of Dubai’s knowledge economy – and we are delighted that the World Congress of Neurosurgery will be held in such a vibrant and dynamic city."

This congress will not only draw leading figures from neuroscience but also business leaders and innovators. It positions Dubai at the forefront of scientific advancement.
