Dubai Health Showcases Innovative Digital Initiatives At GITEX Global 2025 To Enhance Healthcare Services
Dubai Health is set to participate in GITEX Global 2025, showcasing its digital initiatives aimed at enhancing healthcare outcomes and patient experiences. The event will take place at the Dubai World Trade Centre from 13 to 17 October, featuring both public and private sector leaders. This year's focus is on biotechnology and artificial intelligence advancements.
Atif Al Braiki, Chief Digital and AI Officer at Dubai Health, stated: "Dubai Health’s participation in GITEX Global 2025 reflects our commitment to leveraging modern technologies and artificial intelligence solutions to advance healthcare services and redefine the patient journey. The exhibition provides a global platform to explore the latest digital innovations and apply them toward building an integrated healthcare system that meets future needs."

During the exhibition, Dubai Health will present three digital projects that utilise AI to enhance healthcare quality. One of these is Virufy, an AI-driven smartphone app for quick prescreening of infectious respiratory diseases by analysing cough sounds. This initiative is part of a collaboration with Dubai Future Solutions – Prototypes for Humanity.
The "Virtual ICU" project focuses on improving pediatric care through continuous monitoring in a tech-driven environment. It allows specialists to remotely oversee critical cases using smart surveillance tools and real-time data analysis. This system ensures early intervention, reduces complications, and supports recovery by connecting intensive care units through a unified virtual network.
Another highlighted project is "Agentic AI for MBRU Admissions," a generative AI-powered virtual assistant. It offers 24/7 support for students and applicants regarding admission programs, registration requirements, and scholarships at the Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences (MBRU). The system interacts via phone calls and text chats, providing accurate information to simplify admissions.
Al Braiki further added: "Our digital transformation continues to pave the way for an integrated, advanced healthcare ecosystem supported by artificial intelligence, one that enables faster, more precise, and more accessible care for every individual. Through these efforts, we aim to elevate quality of life and realize our vision of Advancing Health for Humanity."
Commitment to Community Well-being
This participation aligns with both the Dubai Social Agenda 33 and the Dubai Digital Strategy. It underscores Dubai Health's dedication to integrating AI across its systems to benefit the community and enhance life quality. A clinical research study will validate Virufy's AI algorithm accuracy under this collaboration. Once validated, it could improve public health preparedness by offering a convenient screening tool via smartphones.
The exhibition serves as a global platform for exploring digital innovations applicable in creating an integrated healthcare system that meets future needs. By participating in GITEX Global 2025 within the Dubai Government Pavilion, Dubai Health aims to demonstrate its commitment to advancing healthcare services through modern technology.
