Dubai Health Board Meeting Led By H.H. Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Inaugurates Centre For Innovation And Technology

H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Health Board of Directors, inaugurated the Centre for Innovation and Technology at Dubai Health. This centre aims to integrate clinical expertise with research and innovative technologies to shape the future of healthcare. The inauguration took place during a meeting of the Dubai Health Board of Directors, which Sheikh Ahmed chaired.

During this meeting, board members reviewed significant achievements and discussed ongoing projects focused on improving patient care and healthcare quality. H.H. Sheikh Ahmed expressed gratitude to Professor Alawi Alsheikh-Ali, Director-General of the Dubai Health Authority, for his contributions to establishing Dubai’s first academic health system.

The Centre for Innovation and Technology is designed to foster collaboration among clinicians, scientists, learners, and innovators. It aims to transform bold ideas into real-world solutions that enhance patient care and drive medical advancements. The centre also serves as an educational platform for pioneering breakthroughs in healthcare.

Dr. Yacine Hadjiat, Director of the Centre for Innovation and Technology at Dubai Health, stated that the centre brings together talent from various disciplines. He said it provides resources needed to reimagine healthcare delivery by advancing technology and inspiring bold thinking.

The establishment of the centre was made possible through generous donations from the Easa Saleh Al Gurg Charity Foundation and AW Rostamani Group. They contributed AED10 million through Al Jalila Foundation. This launch coincides with WHX Tech 2025, a global health technology exhibition held from 8–10 September 2025 at the Dubai World Trade Centre.

Dubai Health plans to announce new collaborations with leading academic, technology, and government partners during this event. These partnerships include organisations like Dubai Future Foundation, Prototypes for Humanity, Siemens Healthineers, Schneider Electric, Huawei, and others.

Acknowledging Key Contributors

H.H. Sheikh Ahmed honoured Dr. Raja Easa Al Gurg and Dr. Amina Al Rostamani for their support in establishing the centre. He appreciated their efforts in advancing community philanthropy through their contributions to medical education and research.

Dr. Raja Easa Al Gurg expressed gratitude for being honoured by H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed. She emphasised that supporting such initiatives builds on values instilled by her late father, whose contributions left a lasting mark on community service.

Advanced Facilities at the Centre

The Centre for Innovation and Technology houses advanced laboratories designed to develop, test, and validate solutions in healthcare innovation hubs worldwide. Facilities include labs for Extended Reality (XR BCI), Robotics and Sensors Lab, Artificial Intelligence Data Lab, Design Lab, User Experience Room, and collaboration spaces.

The centre also offers comprehensive services through its Technology Transfer Office (TTO) to support innovators in protecting intellectual property and building partnerships essential for transitioning discoveries into applications.

Dr. Amina Al Rostamani expressed pride in contributing to establishing the centre at Dubai Health. She highlighted its role in accelerating smart solutions adoption in healthcare while strengthening Dubai’s position in medical sciences through strategic partnerships.

The Centre for Innovation and Technology is committed to enhancing patient care by driving medical advancements aligned with Dubai Health’s ‘Patient First’ promise. It aims to improve lives by enabling clinicians and researchers to pioneer breakthroughs shaping future healthcare delivery.
