Dubai Health Authority Hosts Delegation Of 20 Global Health Leaders To Enhance Healthcare Practices
The Dubai Health Authority (DHA) recently hosted a group of 20 senior healthcare leaders from various countries. This visit was part of the International Programme for Health Leadership, organised by the Government Experience Exchange Office under the Ministry of Cabinet Affairs. The programme aims to share global best practices in healthcare and strengthen institutional knowledge partnerships.
During their visit, the delegation learned about Dubai’s innovative approach to healthcare and its achievements in sustainability and quality care. These efforts have elevated Dubai's global standing in public health and quality of life indices. The DHA teams shared insights into the ongoing institutional transformation within Dubai’s healthcare system, highlighting the emirate’s health sector strategy.

A key focus of the meeting was on Dubai's public health protection framework, which includes prevention and epidemic response mechanisms. The DHA presented its efforts to promote community health, enhance preventive readiness, and integrate legislative and regulatory infrastructure. This strategic approach aims to regulate healthcare professions and facilities across the emirate effectively.
The delegation was also introduced to Dubai's healthcare regulatory frameworks, advanced standards, and policies. These reflect DHA’s strategic vision for future regulation. Additionally, they explored the integrated health insurance system and sustainable financing mechanisms that ensure financial efficiency and continuity of healthcare services.
A specialised presentation highlighted findings from Dubai’s Household Health Survey. This emphasised the importance of accurate data in supporting decision-making processes. Such data enhances planning based on scientific research and analytical insights, ensuring informed strategies for public health improvements.
The visiting leaders also toured the DHA’s Crisis and Disaster Management Centre. Here, they received a detailed briefing on Dubai's emergency health management system. The session underscored DHA’s commitment to ensuring maximum responsiveness during crises through advanced capabilities at the centre.

Dr. Alawi AlSheikh-Ali, Director-General of DHA, stated that rapid progress in Dubai’s healthcare sector has been crucial in reinforcing its position as a global leader in quality of life and healthcare. "The advancements we have made are pivotal in maintaining our leadership status," he noted.
This visit not only showcased Dubai's achievements but also fostered international collaboration by sharing valuable insights into effective healthcare management practices with global leaders.
