Dubai Reveals Shortlisted Entities For Hamdan Bin Mohammed Government Services Award

The Dubai Model Centre, affiliated with the General Secretariat of The Executive Council of Dubai, recently unveiled the contenders for the prestigious Hamdan Bin Mohammed Programme for Government Services Flag. This announcement follows the latest assessment cycle, highlighting seven government entities in Dubai for their exceptional efforts in enhancing service quality and adhering to the 'Services 360' policy. This policy serves as a comprehensive guide for elevating government services, aiming to position Dubai as a frontrunner globally in this sector.

The entities in contention include the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai, Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, Dubai Municipality, Dubai Public Prosecution, Dubai Police, Dubai Roads and Transport Authority, and the Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation. These entities were meticulously evaluated across five criteria: results and impact, adoption of a whole-of-government approach, innovation, service culture, and sustainability of results. The next phase involves customer evaluations, where feedback on experiences with these entities will be gathered in the forthcoming weeks.

Shortlist for Dubai Government Services Award

Eman Al Suwaidi, Senior Director of the Dubai Model Centre, expressed the centre's dedication to reinforcing Dubai's status as a global leader in delivering superior government services. This commitment is in line with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and the directives of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. Al Suwaidi praised the participating entities for their exceptional leadership and excellence in service enhancement.

Since the inception of the 'Services 360' policy, developed collaboratively by the Dubai Model Centre and the Digital Dubai Authority among others, there has been a notable drive among government entities to reach new heights of excellence. The Hamdan Bin Mohammed Programme for Government Services Flag is a testament to these efforts, recognizing and rewarding the entity that stands out in its commitment to improving service quality.

The 'Services 360' policy outlines an ambitious roadmap for transforming government services in Dubai. With goals set for 100 percent automation, 90 percent integration, and 90 percent digital services by 2025, the policy forecasts annual savings exceeding AED1 billion. Additionally, it aims to eliminate nine million physical customer visits and free up over 300,000 working hours annually. This strategic approach not only enhances service efficiency but also significantly contributes to environmental sustainability by reducing paper usage.

The final stage of assessment for the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Programme for Government Services Flag involves direct feedback from customers through independent surveys. These surveys will allow users to rate their experiences with the shortlisted entities. The culmination of this process will see one government entity being honored with the flag for the year 2023, marking a significant achievement in their pursuit of service excellence.

This initiative underscores Dubai's commitment to fostering innovation and excellence in government services. By prioritizing customer experience and integrating technology into service delivery, Dubai continues to set benchmarks for other cities globally. The outcome of this programme will not only celebrate success but also inspire continuous improvement across all government entities in Dubai.
