DUBAI GAMES Rebranding Marks New Era For Global Sporting Event In 2025
Under the guidance of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Higher Committee of Gov Games has rebranded the tournament to DUBAI GAMES. This change highlights its evolution into a globally acknowledged sporting event. Scheduled for February 2025, the sixth edition promises to be the largest yet, drawing participants from across the globe.
The newly named DUBAI GAMES will include five main categories: Battle of the Government – Men, Battle of the Government – Women, Battle of the Community, Battle of the Cities, and Battle of the Juniors. The event will kick off with the Battle of the Juniors on 8 February 2025 at Damac Hills, followed by the main competitions starting on 20 February 2025 at Dubai Festival City.

Marwan bin Essa, Director of DUBAI GAMES, stated that "DUBAI GAMES, previously known as Gov Games, has grown significantly over the years, expanding its challenges and attracting participants from federal and local government entities, community groups, young athletes, and international teams. This growth reflects the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, who has established excellence as a defining element of Dubai’s identity."
The decision to rebrand under Dubai’s name underscores its leadership in various sectors including sports. With advanced infrastructure in place, Dubai has solidified its reputation as a top global destination for hosting major international sporting events.
The revamped DUBAI GAMES brand represents its transformation into a significant international sporting occasion. This achievement is due to dedicated efforts and collaboration with strategic partners and sponsors. The sixth edition will feature challenging mental and physical tasks like obstacle courses that test endurance, strength, and teamwork among both local and international competitors.
