Dubai Foundation For Women And Children Enhances Social Awareness Through Engaging Summer Camps

The Dubai Foundation for Women and Children (DFWAC) is actively involved in promoting social awareness as part of the Dubai Social Agenda 33. In July, DFWAC participated in several summer camps aimed at empowering children both psychologically and socially. These camps were organised with various government and community partners to provide non-formal educational experiences that blend entertainment with awareness.

DFWAC's participation extended to the "Al Ameen – Ferjan Dubai Summer Camp" at Dubai Schools in Al Khawaneej and Al Barsha, as well as the "Ghraas Al Saif" programme. The latter was held under the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department at the Maktoum Centers for the Holy Quran and its Sciences in Al Warqaa 1. These initiatives are part of DFWAC's broader mission to enhance its humanitarian and social impact.

Empowering Children Through Summer Camps in Dubai

During these events, DFWAC introduced an activity called "Kindness Makes Us Stronger," targeting around 400 children aged 6 to 15. This activity aimed to create an interactive environment that promotes psychological and social awareness while instilling positive values in children. The programme used unique awareness cards developed by DFWAC’s Child Protection Program to engage participants.

The activities were designed to boost children's self-confidence, teach acceptance and respect for diversity, develop emotional intelligence, improve anger management skills, and encourage empathy, tolerance, and kindness in interactions with others. By focusing on these areas, DFWAC aims to foster a supportive environment for children's development.

Sheikha Saeed Al Mansouri, Acting Director-General of DFWAC, highlighted that these initiatives are part of ongoing efforts to engage with all societal segments, especially children and adolescents. The foundation aims to provide flexible learning environments that contribute to developing behavioural and social skills among young individuals.

Sheikha Saeed also noted DFWAC’s commitment to using these initiatives to strengthen partnerships with relevant stakeholders. This aligns with Dubai’s vision of becoming the best city globally for child care and development by creating an inclusive environment that meets children's psychological, social, and educational needs at every growth stage.

Through its active involvement in such programmes, DFWAC continues to play a vital role in supporting children's holistic development within Dubai's community framework. By collaborating with various entities, the foundation ensures that children receive comprehensive support that addresses their diverse needs effectively.
