Dubai To Host Prestigious FinTech Summit In May Under Royal Patronage
Under the esteemed patronage of H.H. Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Finance, and President of DIFC, Dubai is set to host the second edition of the Dubai FinTech Summit. Scheduled for May 6-7 at Madinat Jumeirah, this event is organized by Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) and aims to be a melting pot for 8,000 decision-makers, over 300 thought leaders, and more than 200 exhibitors from around the globe.
The Summit is poised to delve into the latest innovations and challenges within the FinTech sector, showcasing advanced technologies. With the global FinTech market on a rapid growth trajectory, expected to reach a valuation of US$608 billion by 2029 as per Mordor Intelligence, the MENA region is not far behind. It's anticipated to witness a Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of over eight percent from 2024 to 2029, defying the global market trends.

Dubai's strategic position in the FinTech landscape is further solidified with over 800 FinTech startups valued at US$15.5 billion, as reported by dealroom.co. The Summit will serve as a crucial platform for startups, investors, and industry leaders to forge connections and leverage the burgeoning FinTech market in the MENA region and beyond.
The themes for this year's Summit—Finance Renaissance, Ecofinance and Impact, Investment Vanguard, Regulatory Frameworks, Global Financial Dynamics, and FinTech 2.0—reflect the ongoing transformation in the financial sector driven by innovation, inclusion, and impact. Mohammad Alblooshi, CEO at DIFC Innovation Hub, highlighted Dubai's pivotal role in the GCC's FinTech ecosystem, housing nearly 60 percent of all FinTech companies in the region.
With an impressive roster of local and international speakers, the Summit will feature panel discussions and fireside chats on various pertinent topics. Notably, more than 20 governors of financial institutions are expected to attend this year's event.
A standout feature of the Dubai FinTech Summit will be the Grand Finale of the FinTech World Cup (FWC), where champions will secure an investment of up to US$1 million. This competition underscores DFS's commitment to fostering cross-border collaboration and innovation within the global FinTech sector.
The Summit aligns with the D33 Agenda's objective to position Dubai among the top four global financial hubs by 2033. It presents an unparalleled opportunity for attendees to explore emerging trends in FinTech and their potential to drive financial progress in the MEASA region.
Last year's inaugural event attracted over 5,000 C-suite leaders from more than 90 countries, including over 1,000 investors and more than 150 speakers. Additionally, over 20 memoranda of understanding were signed with global financial leaders during the Summit, marking its success and significance in shaping the future of finance.
