Dubai FinTech Summit 2024: A Global Hub Of Innovation And Collaboration

The 2nd edition of Dubai FinTech Summit (DFS) concluded with great success, bringing together more than 8,000-makers from 118 countries. The event, held at Madinat Jumeirah and organised by Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), featured 300 thought leaders participating in 125 discussions across five stages and showcased cutting-edge technologies from over 200 exhibitors. The Summit also saw the presence of more than 20 government dignitaries, including the Mayor of Seoul and Central Bank Governors.

The 3rd edition of the Dubai FinTech Summit is scheduled for 7-8 May 2025, under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Maktoum. The Dubai FinTech Summit is not just a gathering, but a platform for transformative discussions and collective action, according to His Excellency, Essa Kazim, Governor of DIFC. The Summit serves as a beacon for impact, progress, and collaboration, creating unprecedented opportunities for growth and innovation. Dubai is leading the way in shaping the future of finance and strengthening its position as a global FinTech hub. Arif Amiri, Chief Executive Officer at DIFC Authority, emphasized the importance of the Summit in exploring the opportunities brought by the FinTech revolution. He highlighted Dubai's commitment to innovation and its role as a gateway between the east and the west. Over 50 international associations participated in this year's Summit, including Africa FinTech Network, European Blockchain Association, and Hong Kong FinTech Industry Association.

Dubai FinTech Summit s Global Success

The Summit witnessed the participation of over 1,000 investors, including top executives from major banks with over $7 trillion in assets under management. More than 40 FinTech and blockchain unicorns, with a combined market capitalization of over $400 billion, were also present. The two-day event featured over 30 side events hosted by local, regional, and international partners, covering various topics within the financial technology landscape. Several significant announcements and agreements were made during the Summit. Revolut, a global neobank and financial technology company, announced its expansion plans in the MEASA region to foster financial inclusion through cutting-edge technology. State Street Global Advisors also announced its return to DIFC, recognizing the region's expanding opportunities and DIFC's track record as a leading hub for finance and growth. Dyna.Ai, a Singapore-headquartered firm, launched its operations across multiple regions, aiming to transform businesses with AI solutions. The Summit also highlighted the UAE's dynamic blockchain ecosystem.

The number of active companies in the sector has increased by 13% year-on-year, reaching 2,040 organizations. The industry workforce has also grown, with over 10,600 individuals working in the blockchain space. Regulatory clarity has played a significant role in attracting global brands to the UAE's crypto industry.The Dubai FinTech Summit aligns with the Dubai Economic Agenda (D33), which aims to position Dubai as one of the top four global financial hubs by 2033. The Summit encourages cross-border collaboration and innovation, driving the transformation of the global FinTech sector. It provides a platform for attendees to explore emerging FinTech trends and their potential to drive financial progress in the MEASA region.

The 2nd edition of the Dubai FinTech Summit was supported by over 150 global corporate partners, including Visa as Founding Partner & Co-Host, Emirates NBD as Premium Banking Partner, and Mashreq as Diamond Sponsor, among others. The event's success and the participation of industry leaders from around the world underscore Dubai's position as a leading global hub for FinTech firms.
