Dubai Concludes Successful 2024 Summer Campaign With Global Audience Engagement

The Dubai Destinations 2024 summer campaign concluded after two months of showcasing the city's unique summer offerings. The campaign, launched under the directives of H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, aimed to highlight Dubai's exceptional activities and experiences throughout the year. Implemented by Brand Dubai, the creative arm of the Government of Dubai Media Office (GDMO), the campaign used storytelling to enhance Dubai's profile as a top global summer destination.

Shaima Al Suwaidi, Director of Brand Dubai, remarked on the success of the campaign, stating, "The summer phase of the 2024 Dubai Destinations campaign brilliantly captured the essence of Dubai's diverse and exciting experiences, further cementing its status as a leading global destination. This year's campaign achieved impressive engagement from both local and global audiences, with captivating content shared across various platforms that inspired millions to discover Dubai's diverse summer destination offerings."

Dubai's Summer Campaign Success

The campaign generated significant public engagement, with over 20 million video views on social media platforms like Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, Facebook and X. More than 3,000 pieces of content were shared across digital channels, reflecting the widespread impact of the campaign. The interactive storytelling and visually engaging content highlighted beach destinations, waterparks, indoor activities and hotel pools.

Throughout this period, some of Dubai’s most talented creatives collaborated to produce compelling content. Influencers, photographers, digital media content creators, animators and videographers worked together to raise visibility for the city’s major attractions and recreational destinations. Their efforts captured Dubai’s distinctive summer vibe and showcased its wide array of attractions appealing to people of all ages and backgrounds.

The campaign also prominently featured unique homegrown businesses from the Proudly from Dubai network. This initiative by Brand Dubai aims to showcase successful businesses born in Dubai. A guide titled ‘Dubai’s Summer Essentials’ spotlighted various homegrown businesses offering summer essentials such as refreshing F&B options for gatherings and light summer clothing lines.

Brand Dubai issued four interactive bilingual guides during the campaign. These guides helped people discover many attractions and hidden gems in the emirate. They showcased a variety of exciting summer and weekend experiences including seaside dining, top-rated summer camps for children, thrilling water adventures, indoor sports activities and popular indoor venues.

Record-Breaking Visitor Numbers

Dubai's growing popularity as a destination is evident from the record number of visitors it received in the first half of 2024. The city welcomed 9.31 million international overnight visitors from January to June 2024. This marks a 9 percent increase over the 8.55 million tourist arrivals in the first half of 2023.

In January this year, Dubai was named the No.1 global destination for an unprecedented third successive year in Tripadvisor Travellers’ Choice Awards. It became the first city to achieve this unique accolade. Additionally, in the first half of 2024, Dubai was named the Middle East’s leading destination by the World Travel Awards.

The content creators involved in this campaign expressed their joy in showcasing Dubai’s diverse tourism offerings. They highlighted how Dubai continually sparks creativity and artistic expression. They felt proud producing content that further raises Dubai’s profile as one of the best cities globally to live, work and visit.

Al Suwaidi expressed her gratitude for Brand Dubai's partnership with young creatives who showcased Dubai as an ideal summer destination. She acknowledged their efforts in creating rich content that captured Dubai’s unique summer experience and created lasting memories for families.
