Dubai Design District Forms Strategic Partnership With Fuorisalone.it And Brera Design District For Global Collaboration

Dubai Design District (d3), part of TECOM Group PJSC, has formed a significant alliance with Fuorisalone.it and the Brera Design District. These Italian entities are influential in the global design sector and are developed by Studiolabo. This collaboration was formalised during Milan Design Week, aiming to enhance industry networking, knowledge exchange, and joint initiatives.

The partnership aligns with Dubai's Creative Economy Strategy and the Dubai Economic Agenda ‘D33’. It also supports the Design Sector Strategy 2033. This agreement opens new avenues for Italian creative talents and businesses to explore opportunities in the Middle East and North Africa through d3.

Dubai Design District Partners with Italian Design Leaders

Khadija Al Bastaki, Senior Vice President of d3, expressed enthusiasm about this collaboration. She stated, "Milanese design lies at the heart of Italy’s renown as an epitome of design, and Fuorisalone.it and Brera Design District are the lifeblood of this vibrant design legacy, as we saw once again at this year’s Milan Design Week." The partnership aims to foster cultural exchange and strengthen d3's role as a key player in global design.

Paolo Casati, Co-Founder and Creative Director of Studiolabo, highlighted the growth potential this partnership offers. He said it provides "an important growth opportunity in new and strategic markets for the development and internationalisation of the Fuorisalone.it format and the Brera Design District brand." The collaboration seeks to create valuable connections that open new markets for Italian companies in design and furniture sectors.

The first step in this partnership began in February when Khadija Al Bastaki joined the jury for the Fuorisalone Awards. These awards celebrate outstanding installations during Milan Design Week. This move underscores d3's commitment to fostering excellence within the industry.

d3 has previously collaborated with other Italian design leaders like Isola Design Group, which established a presence at d3 in 2024. Additionally, partnerships were formed with Milano Durini Design Association and Associazione Italiana Professionisti Interior Design (AIPi) in 2023. These collaborations further solidify d3's position as a hub for creative industries.

Future Prospects

The theme 'Mondi Connessi' or 'Connected Worlds' proposed by Fuorisalone.it for its 2025 edition reflects this collaborative spirit. It aims to connect diverse worlds, cultures, knowledge, experiences, markets, and audiences. This approach envisions diversity as a continuous source of opportunity for design innovation.

The Italian Trade Agency also showcased its talent during Dubai Fashion Week's Spring/Summer 25 edition at d3 in September. Such events highlight d3's role in promoting international talent and fostering cross-cultural collaborations within the creative sector.

This strategic partnership not only elevates Dubai’s creative economy on a global scale but also strengthens its reputation as an international hub for design industries. By building bridges between different cultures and markets, it paves the way for innovative solutions that benefit both regions involved.
