Dubai Data And AI Platform Launched To Enhance Digital Transformation Efforts In Dubai

Digital Dubai, responsible for overseeing the digital transformation in Dubai, is developing a new data and AI platform. This initiative aligns with international standards and aims to enhance data accessibility and security. A contract was awarded to Moro Hub, part of Digital DEWA, to start the project by September 2024. The platform will enable seamless data sharing among government and private entities.

The platform will utilise AI for innovative data analysis, aiding government decision-making. This approach supports Digital Dubai's goal of boosting digital maturity and improving the data maturity index. It focuses on enhancing digital data quality, usability, and governance. The platform's scalable infrastructure is designed to meet future needs, improving government performance flexibility.

The agreement was signed at Digital Dubai's headquarters by Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer of DEWA and Hamad Obaid Al Mansoori of Digital Dubai. Other key figures present included Younus Al Nasser from Dubai Data and Statistics Establishment, Marwan bin Haidar from Digital DEWA, Mohammed bin Sulaiman from Moro Hub, and Ghaith Al Suwaidi from Dubai Data and Statistics Establishment.

Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer stated that the initiative aligns with Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum's vision to make the UAE a leader in digital solutions. He said, "We operate in line with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum...to strengthen the UAE’s leading global position in the field of digital solutions." The collaboration aims to enhance digital innovation and support economic growth.

Hamad Obaid Al Mansoori highlighted that this initiative marks a significant step in Dubai's digital transformation journey. He noted that AI is being used to increase the economic value of digital data. "While the world is witnessing rapid changes...the importance of digital data remains a constant," he added. This effort supports the Digital Dubai Strategy to digitise life in Dubai.

Building a Sustainable Digital Infrastructure

Younus Al Nasser emphasised that the platform continues a long-standing focus on data as a key driver of digital transformation. He mentioned that it builds on previous efforts like the 'Dubai Pulse' platform launched in 2017. The new platform aims to enhance innovation and decision-making through improved data exchange and integration.

Marwan bin Haidar expressed excitement about collaborating with Digital Dubai on this strategic project. He said it will be crucial for achieving an advanced digital future in Dubai. The partnership aims to leverage AI for sustainable development while providing efficient cybersecurity services through the 'Dubai Digital Clouds' project.

Unified Framework for Data Systems

The platform will unify existing systems like Dubai Pulse and the Dubai Statistics Centre Portal using efficient mechanisms. Hosted on Moro Cloud, it will offer managed cybersecurity services aligned with the Digital Dubai Clouds Agreement. This ensures stability, business continuity, and infrastructure support for decision-making.

The platform serves as an integrated framework for all data systems in Dubai, promoting connectivity among government and private entities. It advances smart city trends by enhancing proactive approaches, IoT applications, cybersecurity measures, real-time analytics, self-service options, and community engagement.

This initiative contributes significantly to implementing the Dubai Economic Agenda D33, which aims to double Dubai's economy within ten years. By leveraging modern technologies like AI and machine learning through flexible governance systems, it supports innovation models while reducing costs.

The new platform exemplifies compliance with Data Law requirements while showcasing government flexibility in enabling digital transformation efforts across sectors in Dubai. It harnesses AI potential for sustainability promotion alongside economic dynamism enhancement throughout various industries within this vibrant cityscape setting globally recognised benchmarks today!
