Dubai Culture Opens Entries For Al Marmoom Short-Film Competition
Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture) has announced the open call for the Al Marmoom Short-Film Competition, part of the fourth Al Marmoom: Film in the Desert festival. This competition aims to enhance the local film industry by providing a platform for filmmakers to share their experiences and inspire new talent.
Applications are open from 14th August to 30th September 2024. A committee of experts, directors, and filmmakers will review submissions. The selected films will compete for awards at the Al Marmoom Desert Conservation Reserve from 3rd to 12th January 2025.

The competition features four categories: documentaries, animated films, live-action, and films made using artificial intelligence. Films will be judged on quality and content. Eligible entries must be original, recent, and not previously shown at any festival or event.
Participants must present unique ideas that reflect their artistic visions and commitment to innovation. Films should be between 3 and 30 minutes long, free from offensive content, and participants must own all rights to their work.
