Dubai Culture And Dubai Racing Club Collaborate To Enhance Emirati Heritage Through MoU

The Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture) has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Dubai Racing Club (DRC). This partnership aims to enhance cultural cooperation and promote local identity. By working together, they plan to create innovative programs that highlight Emirati traditions, enriching the Dubai World Cup experience with genuine cultural engagement.

Hala Badri, Director-General of Dubai Culture, and Ali Abdulrahman Al Ali, CEO and Board Member of DRC, signed the agreement. It sets a framework for collaboration, including sharing expertise and developing initiatives to promote cultural heritage. This MoU aligns with Dubai's strategy to foster collaboration among local entities.

MoU Signed to Promote Emirati Heritage

Hala Badri emphasised that this MoU aligns with His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum's vision. She stated, "This collaboration will help strengthen the cultural and creative industries in the emirate. We aim to create new opportunities for talent, encouraging them to showcase their work to international audiences and visitors to the Dubai World Cup."

The partnership is designed to bolster both tangible and intangible heritage preservation. It aims to provide fresh opportunities for talent to present their work globally while supporting the Authority’s mission. The focus is on safeguarding cultural heritage for future generations through distinctive initiatives.

Ali Al Ali highlighted the importance of this collaboration in blending culture with sport on an international level. He remarked that working with Dubai Culture enhances the Dubai World Cup and horse racing at Meydan Racecourse by showcasing UAE’s rich heritage. This approach celebrates national identity beyond just sports.

Since its inception in 1996 under Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum's leadership, the Dubai World Cup has become a prestigious event. It serves as a platform where cultures meet, talents are celebrated, and equestrian heritage is showcased. This reinforces Dubai’s status as a hub for cultural dialogue and sporting excellence.

Future Prospects

As the 30th anniversary of the Dubai World Cup approaches in 2026, this partnership reaffirms a commitment to preserving UAE’s legacy. Ali Al Ali noted that it elevates UAE's global presence by uniting authenticity with innovation through this prestigious platform.

This MoU underscores a shared dedication to promoting UAE values internationally while supporting local strategic objectives. By integrating culture into major events like the Dubai World Cup, both organisations aim to enrich experiences for diverse audiences attending these events annually.
