Dubai Chambers Hosts Workshops To Educate Businesses On Key UAE Regulatory Developments
In October, Dubai Chambers hosted a series of four workshops focused on legal and compliance matters. These sessions aimed to provide the business community with crucial insights into the UAE's changing regulatory environment. The workshops covered significant topics such as the UAE Bankruptcy Law, mergers and acquisitions, corporate compliance, and shipping and logistics law. Over 170 participants attended these informative sessions.
The initial workshop, conducted in partnership with Hadef and Partners, delved into the UAE Bankruptcy Law. It offered an in-depth analysis of the current legal framework for businesses facing financial distress. Participants learned about three main proceedings: preventive settlement, restructuring, and bankruptcy. The session also highlighted recent cases that set precedents and discussed personal liability risks for directors.

The second webinar was organised with Hamdan AlShamsi Lawyers & Legal Consultants. This session emphasised the importance of staying updated with corporate compliance laws. It explored recent legal changes such as ultimate beneficial ownership regulations, economic substance rules, anti-money laundering requirements, and updates to employment and data protection laws.
Mergers and Acquisitions Strategies
In collaboration with Habib Al Mulla and Partners, the third workshop provided a thorough overview of domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions (M&A). Attendees enhanced their understanding of M&A transactions' life cycle, relevant risks, and strategic planning in a shifting geopolitical landscape.
Shipping and Logistics Sector Challenges
The final workshop was held with Aramex and Al Tamimi & Co., focusing on the shipping and logistics industry. This session addressed key regulatory requirements, common operational challenges, and emerging opportunities within the sector. Participants gained knowledge to navigate complexities effectively and make informed decisions.
These workshops reflect Dubai Chambers' dedication to aiding the business community by offering timely guidance on current legal and compliance updates. By organising these sessions, Dubai Chambers continues to support businesses in adapting to evolving regulations.
