Dubai Chambers And North Macedonia Discuss Enhancing Economic Relations And Trade Opportunities

A delegation from North Macedonia, led by Prime Minister Dr. Hristijan Mickoski, visited Dubai Chambers to discuss economic collaboration. The meeting focused on enhancing trade and investment ties between the two regions. Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansoori, Chairman of Dubai Chambers, and Mohammad Ali Rashed Lootah, President and CEO of Dubai Chambers, were present at the discussions.

Al Mansoori highlighted the significance of this visit in advancing economic cooperation. He stated, "This visit marks an important step forward in our shared ambition to enhance economic cooperation and unlock new opportunities for the business communities in both markets." He reiterated Dubai's commitment to supporting Macedonian companies in expanding globally by utilising Dubai’s strategic advantages.

Strengthening Economic Ties with North Macedonia

The discussions also explored investment opportunities for Dubai-based businesses. Al Mansoori noted that these prospects would allow companies from Dubai to tap into diverse sectors in North Macedonia. This approach aims to benefit both business communities by fostering mutual interests and growth.

The meeting emphasised increasing bilateral trade between Dubai and North Macedonia. Key exports from North Macedonia to Dubai include electronics, apparel, vehicles, machinery, and agricultural products. Conversely, Dubai exports electronics, medical instruments, toys, sports equipment, man-made fibres, and cosmetics to North Macedonia.

In 2024, non-oil trade between the two regions reached approximately US$52.2 million. Both parties discussed strategies to expand this figure by leveraging their respective strengths and economic potential. The aim is to build on existing trade relations and explore new avenues for collaboration.

Growing Business Presence

The presence of Macedonian companies in Dubai has been steadily increasing. By the end of 2024, 47 North Macedonian companies were registered as active members of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce. This number grew with five additional companies joining in early 2025, bringing the total to 52.

Al Mansoori stressed the importance of supporting Macedonian businesses in Dubai. He said that assisting these companies in leveraging Dubai’s competitive advantages would help them expand globally. This support aligns with Dubai Chambers’ commitment to fostering international business relationships.

The meeting underscored a shared commitment to strengthening economic ties between Dubai and North Macedonia. Both sides are keen on exploring new opportunities that will benefit their respective economies while enhancing mutual trade and investment prospects.
