Dubai Chambers And Dubai Islamic Bank Collaborate To Enhance Banking Services For Local And Global Business Growth

Dubai Chambers and Dubai Islamic Bank (DIB) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to improve banking services for businesses. This partnership aims to support the expansion of companies based in Dubai, both locally and internationally. The collaboration will enhance banking options for businesses setting up operations in Dubai, backed by Dubai Chambers.

The MoU is part of the Global Partnerships Programme, which seeks to boost business growth through collaborations with top service providers across eight trade categories. This initiative aligns with the 'Dubai Global' strategy led by Dubai International Chamber, focusing on attracting foreign investment and supporting Dubai-based companies' global expansion into 30 key markets.

MoU Signed to Support Business Growth in Dubai

DIB will offer trade finance services to local firms aiming to enter international markets via its global branch network. Additionally, it will simplify bank account setup for multinational companies and SMEs. Dubai Chambers will assist DIB's global customers interested in investing in Dubai and expanding their businesses from there.

Sanjay Malhotra, Chief Consumer Banking Officer at DIB, stated, "As the largest Islamic bank in the UAE, our partnership with Dubai Chambers reflects Dubai Islamic Bank’s enduring legacy as a pioneer in Islamic banking. Being the only Islamic institution in this collaboration, we are proud to offer a comprehensive range of Sharia-compliant trade finance solutions tailored to meet the unique needs of businesses both locally and internationally."

Khalid Al Jarwan from Dubai Chambers highlighted that this partnership supports their mission to strengthen Dubai's role as a global business hub. He noted that leveraging DIB's financial expertise and network would facilitate international expansion for both local and foreign companies entering Dubai. This collaboration is part of ongoing efforts to foster sustainable economic growth through strategic partnerships.

The MoU also supports the Global Partnership Programme across 31 international offices of the chamber worldwide. This expanding network is crucial for achieving goals set out in the Dubai Economic Agenda (D33), which aims to double the emirate's economy size over ten years and position Dubai among the top three global cities.

Malhotra added that their commitment to providing customised banking solutions positions DIB as a key enabler of economic growth. The partnership with Dubai Chambers aims to transform banking services for businesses in Dubai, facilitating market entry and empowering companies within its dynamic economy while reinforcing its status as a global business hub.
