Dubai Chambers And Confederation Of Indian Industry Collaborate To Enhance Economic Relations

Dubai Chambers recently engaged with a delegation from the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) to explore ways to enhance joint cooperation and strengthen economic ties. The meeting aimed to advance partnerships between Dubai and India's business communities in key sectors of shared interest. Attendees included Mohammad Ali Rashed Lootah, President and CEO of Dubai Chambers, and Rajiv Memani, President of CII, along with representatives from various Indian industries.

The discussions focused on diversifying trade exchanges between Dubai and India. Dubai's strategic role as a hub for Indian companies looking to expand into new markets was also highlighted. Plans were made to organise events in multiple Indian cities to further solidify business relations. This initiative underscores Dubai's growing appeal as a destination for Indian investors and entrepreneurs.

Strengthening Economic Ties Between Dubai and India

During the first half of 2025, Indian businesses represented the largest share of new non-UAE companies joining the Dubai Chamber of Commerce. A total of 9,038 new members were recorded, marking a significant 14.9% increase compared to the same period in 2024. This growth reflects the strengthening economic ties between the two regions.

In April this year, Dubai Chambers signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with CII to boost bilateral trade and investments while supporting mutual economic growth. The agreement established a comprehensive framework for cooperation across several priority areas. It aims to facilitate stronger collaboration between both parties.

Under this MoU, Dubai Chambers provides strategic services to assist Indian companies in establishing and expanding their presence in the emirate. These services are designed to streamline investment processes and accelerate business growth, making it easier for Indian firms to operate in Dubai.

The visit by the CII delegation highlights Dubai's position as a preferred location for Indian businesses seeking regional and global market expansion. By fostering these relationships, both regions aim to benefit from increased trade opportunities and economic development.

This collaboration between Dubai Chambers and CII is expected to yield positive outcomes for both economies by enhancing trade links and creating new avenues for investment. As these initiatives unfold, they promise to strengthen the partnership between Dubai and India further.
