The Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy, part of Dubai Chambers, recently held a roadshow in Canada with the Dubai World Trade Centre. This initiative aimed to promote Expand North Star 2025, the largest global event for startups and investors. The chamber will host this event at Dubai Harbour from 12th to 15th October 2025.

During the Canadian roadshow, events were organised in Toronto, Mississauga, and Vancouver. These gatherings attracted over 350 founders, investors, accelerators, and policymakers. Discussions highlighted Dubai's role as a global hub for digital business growth and the benefits of participating in Expand North Star.

The roadshow aimed to build on the success of Canadian startups from last year's event. Impressively, 67% of these companies have already established operations in Dubai. They now plan to use the emirate as a base for local and regional expansion while forming essential partnerships.

Pitch competitions were also part of the roadshow across the three cities. Thirty-one innovative startups participated, with Bidblocks, Dia Labs Canada, and Recyclorobo.ai emerging as winners. These companies specialise in artificial intelligence and healthcare technologies.

The campaign offered a vibrant platform for networking and knowledge sharing. It showcased initiatives to help Canadian firms enter Dubai's dynamic market and explore opportunities within its thriving digital economy. The chamber also highlighted its services supporting Canadian entrepreneurs' expansion in advanced technology sectors.

The winners secured fully funded participation in Expand North Star 2025. This opportunity provides access to new markets and allows them to compete in the semi-final stage of the Supernova Challenge during the event.

The 2024 edition of Expand North Star saw record-breaking participation with strong visitor engagement. The event featured over 1,800 startups and more than 1,200 investors from 100 countries managing assets exceeding US$1 trillion.

Additionally, 65 unicorn companies with a combined market value exceeding US$400 billion participated in the exhibition. This highlights the significant international presence and innovation level displayed at the event.

Canada marks the second stop in a broader global campaign promoting Expand North Star 2025's significance. This event is crucial for startups, innovators, investors, entrepreneurs, and business leaders seeking unique growth opportunities in Dubai's digital economy.

The annual event is organised by Dubai World Trade Centre and hosted by Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy. It serves as a key global gathering for those looking to shape the future of digital business through collaboration and innovation.
