Dubai Chamber's Initiative Bridges Business Expansion Into Morocco, Senegal

Dubai International Chamber, a key entity under Dubai Chambers, recently orchestrated the latest session of its "In Focus" initiative, aimed at enriching Dubai-based companies with insights into the trade and investment climates of Morocco and Senegal, alongside broader opportunities in North and West Africa. The event saw participation from 95 private sector representatives from Dubai, underscoring the initiative's role in fostering cross-border partnerships and business growth.

The "In Focus" event spotlighted the potential for Dubai companies in Morocco and Senegal, facilitating connections with pivotal stakeholders to discuss trade and investment prospects. Mohammad Ali Rashed Lootah, President and CEO of Dubai Chambers, highlighted Africa's rapidly growing economies and the significant opportunities for private sector involvement. He emphasized the event's alignment with the Dubai Economic Agenda (D33) goals, aiming to double the economy's size within the next decade.

The session included a detailed presentation on the synergies between Dubai and the African continent, focusing on Morocco and Senegal's promising sectors for Dubai businesses. Discussions also covered the conducive business environment fostered by government initiatives in these countries. The event concluded with insights into the "New Horizons" trade missions to Morocco and Senegal, encouraging strong interest and registrations for these upcoming ventures.

Dubai Chambers has pinpointed sectors such as aluminium, fruits and nuts for imports to Morocco, and agriculture, aquaculture, fishing, and tourism for investments in Senegal. These identifications are part of the preparatory phase for the "New Horizons" initiative, which includes tailor-made trade missions offering meetings with key stakeholders, industrial site visits, and cultural activities. In 2023 alone, several successful "New Horizons" missions have been conducted across various global regions.

This initiative not only aims to expand Dubai's business footprint into emerging markets but also supports the strategic vision of enhancing foreign trade to bolster economic growth as outlined in the D33 agenda. Through such endeavors, Dubai International Chamber continues to play a pivotal role in connecting local businesses with international markets, thereby contributing to Dubai's global trade ecosystem.
