Dubai Chamber Of Digital Economy Aids Establishment Of 127 Startups In Q1 2025

The Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy has significantly boosted the emirate's digital startup scene. In the first quarter of 2025, it supported 127 startups, marking a 135% rise from last year. This effort aligns with Dubai's ambition to be a global tech hub. The chamber organised four events to empower startups and improve business conditions in the city.

Omar Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications and Chairman of Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy, stated, "The chamber is committed to playing a pivotal role in positioning Dubai as a global leader in the digital economy, in line with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai. We are continuing to support the development of a fully integrated digital ecosystem, built on world-class infrastructure and forward-looking legislation. Our aim is to foster the growth of both emerging and established digital companies, enable their global expansion from Dubai, and drive innovation and digital entrepreneurship across the economy."

Support for 127 Startups by Dubai Chamber

The chamber is dedicated to speeding up digital transformation in Dubai. It aims to make the city an attractive spot for tech investments and talent. By creating impactful solutions, it seeks to contribute to economic and social progress. The chamber's initiatives are designed to support both new and established digital firms.

In Q1 2025, the chamber expanded its 'Business in Dubai' platform by adding 20 new partners. This brought the total number of partners to 114 across various service categories. The platform offers comprehensive institutional services and business matchmaking opportunities for companies looking to establish or grow their operations in Dubai.

The chamber conducted 12 international roadshows this year to promote Dubai's advanced digital business environment. These roadshows highlighted Expand North Star, a major event for startups and investors scheduled for October at Dubai Harbour. This marks an increase from three similar events held last year.

The first promotional campaign took place in the United States covering Las Vegas, Phoenix, and San Francisco. It attracted over 200 participants from various sectors including startups and investment communities. A second campaign was held in Canada with events in Toronto, Mississauga, and Vancouver engaging more than 350 stakeholders.

Training Initiatives for Future-Ready Workforce

During this period, 729 individuals participated in digital upskilling programmes offered by the chamber. These programmes aim to enhance skills in advanced technology sectors. They are part of efforts to build a workforce ready for future challenges by nurturing specialised talent.

A promotional campaign was also organised in Australia during March with events held in Sydney and Melbourne. This attracted around 400 tech stakeholders including startups and investors who were introduced to Dubai’s strengths as a global hub for digital business growth.

The chamber continues its mission underlining its commitment towards establishing an integrated digital ecosystem backed by robust infrastructure and progressive legislation. Its focus remains on fostering innovation while supporting both emerging enterprises as well as established companies aiming for global expansion from Dubai.
