Dubai Chamber Of Commerce Organises 189 Bilateral Business Meetings To Enhance Trade With Cambodia

Dubai Chamber of Commerce recently completed a trade mission to Malaysia and Cambodia. This mission, part of Dubai Chambers' initiatives, aimed to forge new business partnerships. In Phnom Penh, the chamber facilitated 189 bilateral meetings between companies from Dubai and Cambodia. These meetings focused on exploring opportunities in various sectors.

The chamber organised the "Doing Business with Cambodia" forum during this mission. This event was held in collaboration with several entities, including the UAE Embassy in Thailand, which currently serves as the UAE’s Non-Resident Embassy to Cambodia. The Ministry of Commerce in Cambodia, the Cambodia Chamber of Commerce, and the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) also participated.

Dubai Chamber Hosts Business Meetings in Cambodia

Tekreth Kamrang, Secretary of State at Cambodia's Ministry of Commerce, delivered welcome remarks at the forum. Neak Oknha Kith Meng, President of the Cambodia Chamber of Commerce and Chair of ASEAN Business Advisory Council-Cambodia, also spoke. Salem Alshamsi from Dubai Chambers and Suon Sophal from CDC contributed insights into Cambodia’s economic growth.

Over 357 senior officials and business leaders attended the forum. They explored cooperation and partnership opportunities between Dubai's delegation and Cambodian businesses. The event aimed to strengthen ties and identify mutual benefits for both regions.

During the forum, Dubai Chamber of Commerce presented on Dubai’s business environment. The presentation highlighted competitive advantages for Cambodian companies across various sectors. It showcased how Dubai acts as a strategic gateway to regional markets with high potential.

The Council for the Development of Cambodia provided an overview of Cambodia’s economy. They discussed business fundamentals, development strategies, and investment opportunities available to foreign investors.

Potential Sectors for Collaboration

The chamber identified several promising sectors for trade between Dubai and Cambodia. These include aluminium; iron and steel; beverages; mattresses; furniture; and aircraft parts. These sectors offer significant potential for growth through bilateral trade.

Investment opportunities in Cambodia for Dubai-based companies were also highlighted. Key areas include travel and tourism; hotels; transportation; textiles; consumer products; appliances; construction; and infrastructure investments.

Salem Alshamsi stated: "We are committed to enabling Dubai-based companies to build strong partnerships in priority markets and opening new paths for international expansion. These activities support the sustainable growth of Dubai’s business community and reinforce the emirate’s position as a leading global business hub."
