Dubai Airports Introduces World-First Sustainability Showcase At Dubai Airshow 2025
Dubai Airports, in partnership with dnata, flydubai, and over 30 industry collaborators, will introduce the world's first Sustainability Showcase at the Dubai Airshow 2025. This event is scheduled from 17–21 November at Dubai World Central (DWC) – Dubai Airshow Site. The showcase aims to highlight sustainable practices in aviation.
The showcase will feature two distinct zones: a welcome area focused on Decarbonising Airports and The Future of Flight, and a static display centred around an operational flydubai aircraft. These zones will highlight six key themes: Sustainable Turnaround, Electric Vehicles, Hydrogen Vehicles, Biofuels, Energy Management, and Circularity.

Dubai Airports' broader sustainability strategy aims to reduce the carbon footprint of airport facilities. This includes energy-efficient buildings, low-emission airside vehicles, and eco-friendly utilities. Collaborations with companies like Airbus and Lootah Biofuels are central to this effort.
The initiative will present more than 40 pieces of sustainable ground equipment and innovative technologies. These include solar panel systems, electric baggage tractors, hydrogen-powered buses, and solar-powered waste bins. Many of these solutions are locally available.
As main partners of the showcase, dnata, Dubai Airports, and flydubai will demonstrate how a fully sustainable aircraft turnaround can be achieved. This involves cutting-edge technology and collaboration to address climate challenges effectively.
Nearly 30 partners have joined forces to reimagine the turnaround process from the ground up. Companies such as Airbus, Bee’ah, Cobus, ENOC, Etihad ESCO, Katmerciler and Rosenbauer are involved in this collaborative effort.
Future of Aviation
The Dubai Airshow 2025 is expected to host over 1,500 exhibitors from 47 countries. It will feature more than 200 aircraft across static and flying displays. For the first time ever at this event, eVTOLs will join the flying display.
An expanded content programme with 12 future-focused conference tracks is also planned for visitors. Among these tracks is the Airport and Airline Keynotes track hosted by Dubai Airports.
The Sustainability Showcase marks a pivotal step in aviation's journey towards cleaner operations as global air traffic is set to double by 2045. This initiative reflects UAE’s leadership in sustainability within aviation.
