Dubai AI Week Hackathon 2025 Highlights Innovations In Agentic AI Development

The closing day of Dubai AI Week 2025 highlighted the future of innovation with the Dubai AI Week Hackathon: Agentic AI at AREA 2071, Emirates Towers Boulevard. This event united developers, creatives, and innovators to create autonomous AI agents addressing real-world issues in sectors like travel, logistics, finance, and real estate.

Organised by the Dubai Centre for Artificial Intelligence (DCAI) under the Dubai Future Foundation (DFF), the hackathon was part of Dubai AI Week 2025. The event was held under the patronage of Hi.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai. The week-long event featured ten key events from 21 to 25 April 2025 at various locations in Dubai.

Innovations from Dubai AI Week Hackathon 2025

The hybrid-format hackathon began online from 21st to 23rd April and concluded with two days of intense in-person hacking at AREA 2071. A total of 170 participants formed 36 teams to develop autonomous agents capable of performing complex tasks with minimal human intervention. On Friday, ten teams advanced to the final round.

In the final stage, three top teams were acknowledged and rewarded for their innovative solutions. Expert mentors and judges from organisations like DEWA, Microsoft, DeepOpinion AI, Al Futtaim Group Real Estate, and other academic institutions provided technical insights and strategic guidance throughout the event.

Dubai AI Week 2025 included a diverse range of strategic gatherings aimed at boosting AI adoption across all sectors. Events such as the AI Retreat, Dubai Assembly for AI, Global Prompt Engineering Championship, Machines Can See Summit, Dubai AI Festival, and AI in Schools Week were part of this initiative.

This year's edition attracted over 10,000 participants along with more than 180 speakers. It featured over 150 sessions and workshops alongside more than 140 live activations. Additionally, over 25 global technology companies and more than 15 country delegations participated.

Collaborative Efforts for Responsible Innovation

The DCAI hosted the event in collaboration with key government and private sector partners to establish Dubai as a global hub for responsible AI innovation. The aim was to position Dubai as a testbed for impactful advancements in artificial intelligence.

The hackathon's success demonstrated how collaborative efforts can lead to significant advancements in technology while addressing real-world challenges effectively. Participants showcased their ability to innovate within a supportive environment that encourages creativity and problem-solving skills.
