Drydocks World Awarded FPSO Baobab Ivoirien Refurbishment Project For Structural Upgrades
Drydocks World has secured a contract from MODEC Management Services Pte. Ltd. for the refurbishment and life extension of the FPSO Baobab Ivoirien. This project, beginning in May 2025, will last eight months and involve significant structural upgrades. The enhancements include renewing 1,000 tonnes of steel, applying 250,000 square metres of tank coating, and installing 11,500 metres of new piping.
The FPSO Baobab Ivoirien is crucial to West Africa's offshore production. It processes 70,000 barrels of oil per day (bpd) and 75 million cubic feet of natural gas. Additionally, it can inject 100,000 bpd of water and store up to two million barrels of crude oil. Currently situated at the Baobab oil field off Côte d'Ivoire's coast, the vessel will move to Drydocks World's Dubai facility for its refurbishment.

The project also involves upgrading crew living quarters and integrating advanced technologies to enhance efficiency and reliability. Once completed, these improvements will extend the vessel's operational life by 15 years, ensuring continued energy production in West Africa.
Drydocks World is renowned for its expertise in vessel refurbishments, life extensions, and conversions. The company has successfully completed over 50 similar projects, including more than 30 FPSO upgrades. This track record underscores their capability in handling complex offshore asset upgrades.
