DP World Completes 65% Of $80 Million Sokhna Logistics Park In Egypt To Boost Trade Connectivity

DP World is advancing the Sokhna Logistics Park, with 65% of its first phase now finished. This $80 million logistics centre, located in the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE), aims to boost Egypt's logistics capabilities and establish it as a significant trade hub in the region.

The facility covers 300,000 square meters and will offer integrated supply chain solutions. It leverages DP World's global network to provide cost-effective services. Completion is expected by June 2025, enhancing efficiency and reducing logistics costs while improving connectivity between Egypt, the Middle East, Africa, and beyond.

Sokhna Logistics Park Progress by DP World

Located just ten kilometres from Sokhna Port, the park provides direct access to Greater Cairo's markets and industrial zones. This strategic positioning helps businesses lower operational expenses and boost efficiency through streamlined cargo movements.

The park is built to international standards and supports various industries like agriculture, pharmaceuticals, retail, automotive, and textiles. It includes bonded and non-bonded warehouses, office space, open cargo areas, and container yards. Logistics activities encompass warehousing, freight forwarding, customs clearing, and value-added services such as labelling and packing.

Ranjit Ray, Senior Vice President of Economic Zones for the MENA region at DP World stated: "We are pleased with the progress made so far and remain focused on completing the first phase within the next few months. The facility will support a wide range of cargo across imports, exports, and transit."

The logistics park will integrate with DP World's operations at Sokhna Port. It offers comprehensive multi-modal supply chain services including freight forwarding. Access to DP World's global trade infrastructure network ensures cost-effective supply chain solutions for local and international businesses.

Interest from Global Markets

The new facility has attracted interest from both local and international markets. Businesses already established in Jebel Ali Free Zone (JAFZA) in Dubai are among those looking to expand regionally through this development.

This project marks a significant step in enhancing Egypt's role in regional trade by providing advanced logistics solutions that cater to diverse industry needs while connecting key markets efficiently.
