DP World Global Freight Summit 2024: Leaders Discuss Future Of Freight And Sustainability
In Dubai, the Global Freight Summit by DP World will gather key figures from trade, logistics, business, and government to discuss freight's future. The event will cover topics like steering global trade towards prosperity, envisioning trade in 2050, and harnessing Artificial Intelligence (AI) for transformative impact.
Solutions for sustainable supply chains and balancing food demand and security will be shared. The summit aims to foster collaboration within the industry. This event marks its third year, with increasing interest and impact annually.

Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, Group Chairman and CEO of DP World, stated that the logistics landscape is evolving quickly. Customers now demand solutions that are not only cost-effective but also meet high standards for efficiency, sustainability, and resilience. He emphasised the importance of industry collaboration to meet these demands using innovative methods.
The summit's primary attendees are Freight Forwarders who increasingly rely on technology-driven solutions to meet changing consumer demands. Mike Bhaskaran, Group Chief Operations Officer of Digital Technology at DP World, highlighted the importance of a customer-centric approach in this context.
Bhaskaran noted that successful Freight Forwarders will adopt complex demands and form partnerships with firms capable of delivering innovative solutions. He added that while price remains a significant factor in business decisions, efficiency, sustainability, and resilience are now equally crucial due to geopolitical and environmental challenges.
The Global Freight Summit 2024 will occur at the Dubai Exhibition Centre in Expo City from 18th to 20th November. It is expected to attract over 10,000 industry leaders from more than 155 countries.
Bhaskaran further explained that DP World supports its Freight Forwarder partners with increasingly complex work due to customer demands and new legislation on sustainable logistics. "We are supporting our Freight Forwarder partners with bigger and more complex work than ever before," he said.
The summit offers a platform for sharing best-in-class approaches to industry challenges. It aims to provide insights into building sustainable supply chains while addressing food demand and security issues.
