DP World Foundation Invests Over USD 240,000 To Transform Angola’s Education Landscape
DP World Foundation has allocated over US$240,000 to improve education in Luanda, Angola. This investment focuses on renovating schools, building a new library, and distributing school kits. The initiative by DP World's philanthropic arm aims to create safer learning environments for students, equipping them with necessary tools for success.
The project targets long-term community development by enhancing educational infrastructure and resources. It seeks to empower future leaders through improved academic opportunities. "Investing in the education of children in Luanda and across Angola is about more than just their success today—it’s about laying the foundation for a brighter, stronger future for the entire community," stated Latifa Al Qemzi, Director-General of DP World Foundation.

The renovations at Boa Esperança School (School of Good Hope) are expected to finish by November's end. This effort is part of DP World Foundation's global initiative to enhance access to quality education and promote sustainable community growth. The project benefits 300 students by providing essential school supplies and transforming their learning spaces.
The opening ceremony was attended by notable figures including Salem Ali Khamis Obaid Al Shamsi, UAE Ambassador to Angola, Lelika Dos Santos from the Angolan Transport Minister’s Office, and Pachero Francisco, Secretary of State for Pre-school and Primary Education. Their presence underscored the importance of this educational initiative.
Francisco Pinzón, CEO of DP World Luanda, remarked on the significance of the renovated space: "The space we have unveiled is far more than just a structure—it is a haven where dreams will take root." He emphasised that it is a place where knowledge empowers children and helps them envision a future full of opportunities.
This initiative highlights DP World Foundation's dedication to using education as a tool for social change. It aligns with their vision of investing in communities so every child can access quality education and its benefits. "We are honoured to contribute to shaping a more promising future for the next generation," added Al Qemzi.
By fostering supportive educational settings, the project aims to boost student morale and improve academic outcomes. It also seeks to demonstrate education's crucial role in social progress while encouraging corporate involvement in local development efforts.
