Downtown UAQ Launches As A Coastal City Within A City In Umm Al Qaiwain
H.H. Sheikh Rashid bin Saud bin Rashid Al Mualla, Crown Prince of Umm Al Qaiwain, emphasised the importance of investments in fostering economic growth and unlocking business potential. His remarks came during the launch of Downtown UAQ at a ceremony held at the UAQ Chamber of Commerce & Industry. This new development is set to transform the emirate's urban landscape.
The Downtown UAQ project covers 25 million square feet and features 11 kilometres of uninterrupted shoreline, including 7 kilometres of pristine beach and park. This extensive coastline enhances its appeal for leisure, tourism, and peaceful waterfront living. The development aims to create a world-class enclave that blends nature, luxury, and modernity.
The Government of Umm Al Quwain has partnered with Sobha Realty for this ambitious project. Sobha Realty is known for its luxury craftsmanship and will oversee the first phase, which includes residential, commercial, and hospitality communities. The project is expected to attract significant investment and international collaboration.
Downtown UAQ's design integrates residential, commercial, and leisure spaces to ensure a vibrant yet serene lifestyle. Over half of the land is dedicated to open spaces, landscaped gardens, and natural corridors. These elements promote sustainable living while enhancing residents' quality of life.
The development features three distinct districts: North Beach, Trade Centre, and South Beach. It will include the UAQ Trade Centre with commercial offices, five-star hotels, resorts, entertainment hubs, retail destinations, and residential communities. This self-sustaining community balances sophistication with functionality.
At the core of Downtown UAQ's economic vision is a 15 million square foot Trade Centre Free Zone with an independent legal framework. This zone positions itself as a premier destination for global business and cultural exchange opportunities.
