DMU Dubai Expands Global Presence With New Campus In Dubai Knowledge Park
De Montfort University (DMU) has launched a new campus in Dubai Knowledge Park, enhancing its international presence and dedication to educational innovation. Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrice of York attended the opening ceremony, where she toured the facility, interacted with students, and engaged in discussions about artificial intelligence's role in education. This highlights DMU's increasing emphasis on digital transformation.
Princess Beatrice expressed her honour at visiting the Dubai campus, commending the university for its creativity and commitment to preparing future leaders through education. The event also saw attendance from notable figures such as Aisha Miran, Director-General of the Knowledge and Human Development Authority in Dubai; Edward Hobart, British Ambassador to the UAE; Abdulla Belhoul, CEO of TECOM Group; Ammar Al Malik, Executive Vice-President of Commercial at TECOM Group; and Professor Katie Normington, Vice-Chancellor of DMU Leicester.

The new campus is strategically located in Dubai Knowledge Park, offering students proximity to the region's key technology hub. It boasts state-of-the-art facilities like a financial trading room, cyber security lab, mock law courtroom, psychology and engineering labs, and creative design studios. This setup bridges academia with industry by providing practical learning environments.
Professor Katie Normington remarked that this opening is a significant milestone for DMU Dubai. It aligns with the university's mission to equip students with skills for impactful careers in emerging industries. The campus aims to provide students with hands-on experience essential for their future professional lives.
The UAE Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research granted institutional licensure to the new campus earlier this year. This confirms its adherence to national quality and academic standards. Such recognition underscores DMU's commitment to maintaining high educational standards globally.
Abdulla Belhoul highlighted that Dubai Knowledge Park is dedicated to bringing together global academic institutions. This effort supports Dubai’s Economic Agenda D33 and Education 33 Strategy, aiming to establish the city as a global centre for innovation and learning.
The launch of DMU's new campus signifies a step forward in fostering talent within an innovative educational framework. By situating itself within Dubai Knowledge Park, DMU strengthens its role in bridging education with industry needs while contributing to regional economic goals.
