Digital Sharjah Platform Surpasses 952,000 Transactions With AED 41.5 Million Value

Since its inception in 2021, the ‘Digital Sharjah’ platform, developed by the Sharjah Digital Department (SDD), has facilitated over 952,000 transactions worth more than AED 41.5 million. This initiative has attracted over 95,000 users. The SDD continues to improve digital life in the emirate through various projects and initiatives, offering integrated services to both residents and visitors.

In line with the emirate government's directives to support digital transformation and enhance competitiveness, SDD provides a unified digital platform. This platform offers over 60 digital services from 19 local, federal, and private entities. It simplifies access to a wide range of services for residents and visitors alike.

According to data from July 2024, the number of completed transactions on the platform exceeded 952,000. This represents a quarterly growth rate of 31 percent. Additionally, registered users increased from 2,992 to approximately 95,000 during this period. The website also saw more than 2.5 million visits between February 2020 and July 2024.

The ‘Digital Sharjah’ application recorded a significant increase in downloads on Android and iOS devices. Downloads rose from 16,066 in 2021 to nearly 100,000 by 2024, marking an increase of over 615 percent.

Sheikh Saud bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Director General of the Sharjah Digital Department, stated that the continuous growth in transaction numbers and user base highlights the department's success. He attributed this achievement to collaboration with government and private partners to offer a simplified and reliable digital experience.

He added, "The public's confidence in the platform's services and the enthusiasm for its use motivate us to continue cooperating and integrating with various government entities. We are committed to working diligently towards the continuous development of the platform in accordance with the latest technological developments and principles of proactivity, incorporating a wide range of government and independent services that meet people's needs and exceed their expectations."
